Watch A Chevy Silverado HD Drag A Boat On A Beach With No Trailer: Video

For those folks who may be unaware, skimboarding is a fun activity for the shoreline, or even a shallow stream or river, wherein riders throw down a flat, thin platform that glides along the sand atop a thin layer of water. It’s great exercise and a good way to get out of the house. Now, we’re watching as a Chevy Silverado HD driver drags a boat like a skimboard across the beach in the following viral video.
Recently making the rounds on social media, the video is just a few seconds long, and shows a wide-open coastline. The blue sky above matches the blue water below as small white waves slowly roll in. As the video gets underway, we see a Chevy Silverado HD dually charging through the surf, with white spray kicking up around the truck as it hits the shallow water. Behind the truck, we see a boat connected to the truck, skimming across the shallow water with ease.
It’s an impressive sight, and pretty amazing that the truck can haul the boat in such a manner without too much issue. In the foreground, we see what appears to be a police officer standing on the sand, taking a video of the action with their phone.
After charging through the water, the Chevy makes a left-hand turn up onto the beach, dragging the boat off the water and onto the sand. According to the video comment section, the truck is part of a vessel assist team tasked with removing derelict vessels from the local beaches. Apparently, this particular boat landed on a portion of the beach used to train Navy SEALs and required immediate removal.
While this is definitely not the ideal way to move a boat, it’s pretty awesome to see. The video comments also indicate that this particular dually does several boat removal jobs every week, which makes sense given how quickly the driver manages to move the derelict down the beach.
Nevertheless, we here at GM Authority recommend that you always use an appropriate trailer. On dry land. See the full video right here:

Really silly stunt. The fact that the Silverado HD CAN do it does not mean it should….
There was a Lexus LX in Saudi Arabia ( I think?) that tried and got stuck in water, and was washed away. That car was likely totaled.
The HD here? Well, the driver was not stupid to go that far…but still, good luck getting support from Chevrolet..when it suffers DEF/DPF issues and whatnot..
If it is the gas engine…it may be a bit more durable, but still will suffer problems.
“While this is definitely not the ideal way to move a boat”
Um not ideal for the boat or truck. Probably $300,000 represented in that video, and destroying it.
Let’s see the HD get any warranty work done by dealer, or even an extended warranty co.
If this is one for the fresh water Great Lakes around Michigan, The Truck is safe.
Lets talk in three years when the frame on the truck has rotted out. GM should apply hot wax sealant to the inside of the rails/cavities, etc like is required for vehicles in Europe, but they don’t.
All that salt water!! I live in Wisconsin, but we only have to worry about salt half the year.
That is a quick way to ruin an expensive truck
Wouldn’t want my Silverado bathed in salt water weekly.
