General Motors revealed the U.S.-spec 2024 Buick Envista in April of 2023, showing off a new, small crossover with sleek styling and a premium interior. As GM Authority covered previously, the Buick Envista is the crossover coupe for the masses, offering a stylishly raked roofline, but without the huge price tag normally associated with the crossover coupe body style. The question, then, becomes this – how does that low roofline affect the crossover’s cargo room?
As it just so happens, GM Authority decided to find out, as documented in the following brief video. Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, the video provides a first-person perspective on the 2024 Buick Envista cargo area and trunk. The video demonstrates how the cargo area holds a carry-on bag in multiple configurations, with Luft first placing the bag in a horizontal layout. In this configuration, there appears to be enough space for three carry-ons, however, when placing the bags in a vertical position, it looks as though the cargo area can accommodate up to four carry-on bags.
Although the vertical positioning for the carry-on bags brushes against the privacy screen covering the hatch area, Luft demonstrates that the hatch still easily closes without any issues. To expand the cargo capacity even further, the rear bench seat includes a 60/40 split, accommodating longer items in the process.
In total, the 2024 Buick Envista offers 20.7 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats folded up and 42 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seats folded down.
As a reminder, the 2024 Buick Envista cradles the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, which is rated at 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The GM VSS-F platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

The cargo cover fits under the trunk floor, according to the specs, as does the Trax.
