Japan-based automaker Honda debuted the refreshed 2025 Acura RDX. Arriving at U.S. dealerships later this month, the reworked RDX will continue to serve as a rival to the 2025 Cadillac XT5.
Positioned as a compact luxury crossover, the current third-gen Acura RDX was introduced for the 2019 model year. This year alone, the brand claims that the RDX was one of the fastest growing models in its segment with sales jumping over 25 percent.
It’s worth noting that the Cadillac XT4 and Cadillac XT5 are positioned as subcompact and midsize luxury crossovers, respectively. However, the RDX’s price range is similar to that of the XT5.
Starting with the exterior, the 2025 Acura RDX boasts Acura’s latest design language with a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille and more aggressive grille mesh. All RDX trims receive sportier wheel designs, while the standard variant is distinguished by premium gloss-black exterior trim. Additionally, the Advance Package features exclusive body-colored lower exterior trim and redesigned Berlina Black Machine-finished 19-inch wheels with a distinct multi-spoke design.
Three new paint colors are on offer, including Solar Silver Metallic, Canyon River Blue Metallic, and Urban Gray Pearl.
Moving to the interior, the cabin is underscored by a redesigned center console with increased storage, larger cupholders and easier access to the wireless smartphone charger. The standard 10.2-inch display is also highlighted by a new wide-screen mode for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Finally, RDX Advance Package and A-Spec with Advance Package variants boast a full-leather upholstery, additional ambient lighting, and dramatically lit front- and rear-door speaker cones behind acid-etched speaker grilles.
Notably, there are no powertrain updates, meaning the turbocharged 2.0L I4 gasoline engine and 10-speed automatic transmission remain, with an output of 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
“This is the most premium RDX we’ve ever made,” Acura National Sales Assistant Vice President Mike Langel remarked in a prepared statement. “Our Acura performance SUV lineup has never been stronger as we continue to deliver on our commitment to advancing Precision Crafted Performance throughout the Acura lineup.”
Interestingly, the upcoming Acura ADX will serve as the Cadillac XT4’s more direct rival upon its debut.

my aunt loves her a-spec 2020 rdx, red leather looks killer & performs great
When are companies going to stop sticking a tablet above the dashline 🙁 it looks tacky like an after thought. It definitely makes it look less premium to me.
