Poll: Is The Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept Hot, Or Not?

Cadillac recently unveiled its latest concept vehicle, introducing the world to the all-electric Cadillac Opulent Velocity. This futuristic hypercar aims to blend the effortless luxury of a fully autonomous vehicle with the adrenaline-pumping excitement of a high-powered performance machine. That all said, we want to know – does the Opulent Velocity hit the mark, or is it a miss?

The front end of the Cadillac Opulent Velocity concept.

Starting with the exterior, the Cadillac Opulent Velocity draws inspiration from the brand’s V-Series.R hybrid race cars and motorsport efforts. The result is a low, sleek body that hovers on top of massive, technical-looking wheels, adding to its formidable stance. The car’s dramatic butterfly doors hinge upward, creating a sense of theater every time they are opened. The body panels are coated in a paint color named Gilded Pearl, giving it a velvety texture, while other standout features include vertical lighting elements, an illuminated 3D grille, and intricate crystal fluting, all of which contribute to a high-end, futuristic aesthetic.

The interior aesthetic provides a good match, presenting a 2+2 seating arrangement that places two captain’s chairs up front and a curved bench seat in the rear. The interior design is angular and streamlined, featuring a Y-shaped steering wheel and fully digital instrumentation. Cadillac also incorporated 3D-printed components and other fine details to give the Opulent Velocity a cutting-edge, sci-fi feel in line with the exterior.

There’s no doubt that the Cadillac Opulent Velocity is a striking vehicle, but opinions on its design may vary. And that’s where you come in, dear reader. We want to know what you think – does the Cadillac Opulent Velocity concept embody the future of luxury and performance, or does it fall short? Cast your vote in the poll below and let us know if you think it’s hot, or not.

Looks like a C7 concept. The CT5 is NOT an Escala, the Celestique is meh, the Sollei is closer …you guys need to call Ed Welburn.

Love it very much, its awesome. The corners at the front just needs to be toned down a little.

Cadillac is great at sketching/building concept cars, but not so good at producing them for sale.

This is an absolute knockout! Almost makes up for the mess that is the Celestique.

Hope they build it but probably won’t since it’s not an SUV.

This just one more beautiful Concepts that will never see production. Cadillac needs to get off its ass and start building cars that people will actually buy and stop wasting time and money on concepts that are DOA and ridiculous cars like the $300,000 Celestiq.

Hey Cadillac, How about placing in production a real Cadillac: a CT6 or CT8 with AWD featuring a twin turbo V6 or V8.
Give it a genuine Cadillac interior and watch it sell. Please!

It is awesome but I will only buy it for my wife if I can order one with ICE Blackwing drive train…!!!

What is this concept competing with if it were to go to production? What’s the intended market?

The front end looks awkward especially where the lights are concerned. The color helps with the appearance but if it was white, blue or any basic color i think it would look ridiculous.

Another beautiful concept car from Cadillac that will never be built. If Cadillac continues this way, then it shall better sell these concepts to other car brands so that they can be produced and sold instead of building cars.

Seats look like they came off of a cheap golf cart. Those doors must weigh a ton: too heavy to open upward, too long to open out. Those type doors are for “2 seater only”. Also, not everybody wants a race car, put in a 3.6 turbo ICE, lots of driver assist features and electronic goodies, price it at 60k and watch them fly out the door. Overall looks are ok, but need more pictures.

think the seats are too uncomfortable thin ones and door too extreme large, it was a common exercise of industry but hope future of cadillac is not this, as in Peeble beach won a scrap other interpretation of elegance so new rewrites are coming we expect all, forgot all nice studies of my huge background, if is hot or not should put fire to see

Well, maybe GM with Cadillac is relooking its way direction like in 20 years BMW did… my opinion CEO and Directors of Styling Design do not know what to do to impress us… AI generative what guys are doing makes me much more Wows of the Results but cost no time and almost no money… is computers doing better the things of human of human did ? the approach it seems,,, Cadillac is still for me the fleetwoods of 1970ies, the 1960ies eldorados etc and the 1950ies as interiors,,,, This … no one guy today and with any high technology can not reach, and this is again this concept text what is reading on it— in win peeble beach elegance as exterior tomorrow… well now Sandra Burton gives attention to junk yard cars, so maybe no…. maybe the 1948 Talbot mint chocolate was a reinvention but ,,,_->>> RELEARNING ALL NICE CONCEPTS WHAT EVER HAVE HARD STUDIED WELL,,, feel myself ignorant with demence-

Tried to see the dictionary the wiki to know WHAT IS THE MEANING OF “ELEGANCE” without right response

You would have to park it in the middle of a two car garage with 10 foot ceilings to get in or out of it

Better than usual. As noted, the Lambo doors are going to be an interesting proposition. But otherwise, you’d need three parking places to open the doors on both sides at the same time. I’d say shorten it and make it a coupe or lengthen it and make it a 4-door sedan. For me it would be a tough sell as a tweener.

Cadillac needs two offer two coupes… We have a two door Cadillac ELR, a two door Cadillac CTS-V and love them much more than the four doors…!!!

I think GM should look seriously at Cadillac quality. Back in the 50’s and 60’s Cadillac was known for quality. They had plush
leather seats, wood grain dash and doors, and a ride that felt like you were floating on air, and was dependable. Then GM wanted to cheapen it up to make more profit. Now Cadillac can’t even compete with the quality of Buick, Chevrolet, Lexus, Toyota, Honda or BMW. Let’s get it together GM and make Cadillac the best quality vehicle on the market!
