Low-Mile 1991 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Up For Auction In Pennsylvania: Photos

Produced over the course of eight generations, the Cadillac DeVille is an iconic nameplate for the luxury brand, with production stretching between 1958 and 2005. The sixth-generation DeVille was offered for the 1985 through 1993 model year, debuting downsized dimensions and a new front-wheel-drive platform. This well-preserved sixth-gen coupe is now up for sale at Bring A Trailer.

It’s not often that you see a sixth-generation Cadillac Coupe DeVille in such well-preserved condition. This model shows 24,000 miles on the odometer, a clean exterior and interior, what appears to be a rust-free undercarriage, and a clean Carfax report. Notably, this car was previously sold on Bring A Trailer this past June, trading hands for $8,600 before it was reacquired by the seller shortly after the sale was complete.

Outside, this Coupe DeVille sports a crisp white exterior and rides on a set of 15-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The polished trim bits look good, especially in conjunction with the polished bumper treatment front and back.

The interior features red cloth upholstery, lending the Caddy a desirable color combination. The dash, doors, headliner, seatbelts, and even the steering column are matched in red. Highlight features include power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, and an AM / FM stereo with an integrated equalizer. The air conditioning system was converted to R134a in 2007.

As for the mechanicals, this Caddy cradles the naturally aspirated 4.9L V8 HT-4900 gasoline engine. The factory output was rated at 200 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The listing states that the fuel filer and rear fuel injectors were cleaned in preparation for the sale.

Now, this 1991 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is back on Bring A Trailer, with the current auction set to end on Friday, August 30th. As of this writing (8/23/2024), the highest bid of seven placed thus far is $4,200.

  2. Not sure what “GM Authority” is talking about. The Coupe DeVille debuted in 1949!

  3. One of the low points for Cadillac cars. Why would anyone keep this POS?

    1. Disagree. The early front drive cars were disappointing but by ‘88 Cadillac had cleaned up their act and they got better every year up to ‘91 when they peaked and stayed. The next generation was a nice evolution that was tainted by the early Northstar’s. I had an ‘87 Fleetwood d’elegance on this platform, outside of the weak 4.1L it was a nice and well built car. The 4.5 and 4.9 engines made them much better.

    3. Couldn’t agree more. Definitely one of Cadillac’s many low points.

  4. Deville was a upgrade trim level for the Series 62 from 1949-58. Because most Cadillacs were be ordered with the deville option, in 1959 Cadillac made it a stand alone model. The Series 62 became the entry level Calais in 65-76, it was discontinued for 77 model year.

  5. Nice budget collector that could be driven regularly.

Also nice that it’s priced realistically, versus someone thinking they’ll get $200,000 for it.

  7. Now that looks like a real Cadillac. I would for sure love one of these. The 4.9 gives these quite a kick when you floor the go pedal and they sound great too! The interior and those seats are all day comfortable.

  8. As for the value, Cadillac did manufacturer a lot of devilles in the early 90’s most were Sedan devilles, as coupe sales had been declining fo years. Although these cars aren’t highly sort after now, they are the last Coupe deville models. That alone may one day make their value increase in years to come. A all original car like this one may have that chance in the future.
