Here’s How To Get Reimbursed For Cracked C7 Corvette Wheels

As GM Authority reported earlier this month, some C7 Corvette owners are now entitled to reimbursement due to defects identified in specific C7 Corvette wheels. These defects can cause the wheels to bend, warp, or even crack, which could lead to significant safety concerns. General Motors has faced multiple lawsuits over the issue, which has been widely documented online as well. In response, affected Corvette owners should receive a letter detailing the steps on how to get reimbursed for cracked C7 Corvette wheels. Here’s how to navigate the process.

Black C7 Corvette wheels matched with white body panels.

The letter sent to C7 Corvette owners begins with an outline of the new extended warranty and repair reimbursement program, specifically addressing the wheel issues found in certain 2015 to 2019 Corvette Z06 and 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport models. These wheels were found to be prone to cracking or bending under normal driving conditions, with the issue primarily traced back to manufacturing defects rather than road hazards or impact damage.

GM’s program acknowledges the problem and offers reimbursement to those who have already paid out of pocket for wheel repairs or replacements. To qualify for reimbursement, the costs must have been incurred while the vehicle was still within the extended warranty period, which covers 4 years or 48,000 miles, whichever comes first.

To successfully claim the reimbursement, customers must provide proof of payment, such as service records, receipts, or invoices from the repair service. Additionally, it’s crucial to supply evidence that the wheel damage was not caused by impact or road hazards. If such documentation is not available, GM will accept a sworn statement (affidavit) explaining the nature of the damage.

Once customers have gathered the necessary documentation, they will need to fill out a reimbursement request form. This, along with the supporting documents and a signed general release form, must be submitted to Analytics Consulting LLC by mail or online by January 25th, 2025. By submitting this paperwork, customers agree to the settlement terms, which include waiving any future claims related to this wheel defect.

  1. In other words, good luck getting any kind of reimbursement. GM is making it virtually impossible to get any kind reimbursement for cracked rims. And I think this delay tactic was all they needed. It’s been at least 7 years now. How many people have actually kept all the detailed records that involved cracked or damaged rims. I did up to a point and now I am not even sure I have all those receipts now. I have never trusted GM or any of their dealerships to honor their warranties. They always find a way to not honor any warranties. This is one reason I will never buy another GM car, whether it be a Corvette or any other products from GM. That is why, I just bought a brand new Porsche. At least Porsche cares about making a quality product. GM only cares about making a sale. And GM’s Corvettes are no longer inexpensive, they are costing as much a a Porsche.

  4. Will file and see what happens. Replaced a cracked rim. Purchased rim at Sands Chevrolet in Surprise, AZ There was a $50 Core charge but I decided to keep it. Rim looks great. No abuse with a very small crack. Rim is repairable according to Discount Tire. The crack is on the inside. Usually a weld (repair) would be as strong as the original I would think. Do you think I made the right choice?

    1. Unfortunately I live in Canada and GM Canada has not seen fit to offer the same reimbursement policy as GM in the US. I had bent/cracked rims on a 2016 Z06 and 2019 Z06 and no compensation. I guess it sucks to be Canadian…lol.
