Following its 2024 model-year mid-cycle refresh, the 2025 Trailblazer boasts just a few updates for the fresh model year. That being said, today we’re taking a closer look at 2025 Chevy Trailblazer towing capacities in the following GM Authority breakdown.
Before diving right in, here’s a quick overview of the available powertrain configurations. The 2025 Trailblazer is offered with either the E85-capable turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, or the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, FWD and AWD setups are on offer.
With that covered, here are the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer towing capacities:

Looking over the table above, all variants of the 2025 Trailblazer are rated to pull the same 1,000 pounds, or 454 kilograms, regardless of powertrain setup or axle ratios. Notably, these are comparable figures to that of the 2024 Trailblazer.
Among other towing-related information details worth noting, The General recommends that drivers don’t tow with their Trailblazer during the first 500 miles (800 kilometers) of vehicle use in order to prevent damage to the engine, axles, or other parts. In addition, drivers are advised to perform an oil change before heavy towing, to not drive over 50 mph (80 km/h), and not make full-throttle starts during the first 500 miles (800 kilometers) of trailer towing. Finally, the Trailblazer can tow perfectly fine in Drive, but if the driver finds that the transmission downshifts too often for their liking, they can choose a lower gear by using the manual mode.
Finally, there are a number of features and technologies General Motors recommends deactivating prior to pulling a trailer, including:
- Park Assist
- Reverse Automatic Braking
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Rear Cross Traffic Braking
- Lane Change Alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control
As a reminder, the Chevy Trailblazer is underpinned by the GM VSS-F platform, while production takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea. Pricing starts at $24,395.

I know there has to be a reason … why doesn’t the ’24/’25 Trax have the same towing capabilities ? Have watch trailer hitch installs and to me it’s about the same. All I need to tow is a 300lb trailer an 450lb riding mower once in a while.
