The refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD was unveiled in 2022 with a long list of updates and changes over the preceding 2023 model year, including new styling, a new cabin, and a few powertrain revisions. Even so, the updated heavy-duty Sierra pickup remains true to its focus on impressive capability, all while integrating the latest tech features along the way. It’s a combination that GM has dubbed “HDNA,” and now, we’re checking out a three-part video seres extolling the Sierra HD’s towing and technology.
The videos include narration performed by Will Arnett, and each video is 15 to 30 seconds long. The first video is dubbed “Max Towing,” and, as expected, shows the heavy-duty pickup towing a large boat on a trailer. The video highlights available best-in-class 2500 Crew Cab max towing up to 22,070 pounds, with the truck easily pulling the trailer and boat down the highway and out of the water.
“With heavy-duty DNA, you can live to the max because it can tow to the max,” the narrator states.
The second video is called “HDNA,” and once again shows the heavy-duty pickup towing. This time, however, the pickup is pulling two massive off-roading vehicles up a mountain pass. We also get a quick look at the GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate interior, including the exclusive topographical styling elements.
The third and final video is titled “Top of the Class,” and shows some of the pickup’s tech features. Among these is a backup camera with a hitch view, making it easy to line up with the trailer. Other camera views are shown that ease the process of launching and loading a boat off a slipway. The ProGrade Trailering system includes up to 14 camera views total.
As a reminder, the GMC Sierra HD is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline as standard, while the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional. A more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings.

Your 3 videos fail to mention the 10 speed Allison transmission. My 2024 2500 HD Sierra with the 6.6 gas is truly unbelievable pulling around our heavier than average holiday trailer. GM should not sell a GM that doesn’t have that 10 speed Allison trans
