GMC Hummer EV Pickup sales during Q2 2024 remained mid-pack from the previous quarter among five entries in the all-electric pickup truck segment but still made progress as all other models changed spots.
The new kid on the block, the Tesla Cybertruck, jumped from last place all the way to the top in only its second quarter on sale, moving 8,000 units. The Ford F-150 Lightning (see running Ford F-150 Lightning sales) slipped to a close second with 7,902 deliveries. The Hummer EV Pickup (see running GMC Hummer EV Pickup sales) took third place with 2,929 sales, enabling the off-road supertruck to move ahead of the Rivian R1T for the first time, which fell to fourth, moving 2,212 units, while the Chevy Silverado EV (see running Silverado EV sales) nipped at its heels with 2,196 deliveries.

The GM Authority Take
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup competes in a specialty space comprised of five models, that being all-electric pickup trucks, and one where entries are already trading places. The Tesla Cybertruck, newest on the market, has already claimed the top spot, bumping the Ford F-150 Lightning from its perch. Meanwhile, GMC’s off-road supertruck pulled ahead of the Rivian R1T for the first time, with the Chevy Silverado EV right behind the Rivian.
Next quarter, Big Red will field yet another model here as the first-ever GMC Sierra EV arrives to continue shaking things up.
About GMC Hummer EV Pickup
Production of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup began this past June, with the nameplate introducing a handful of significant changes and updates over the preceding 2023 model. That includes the launch of two entry-level trim levels, the 2X and 2, though GM Authority has learned that the “base” 2 trim has been dropped. Range-topping Edition 1 and 3X trims round out the all-electric Hummer off-road pickup truck lineup for the 2024 model year.
Another critical update for the 2024 Hummer EV Pickup is the introduction of the new Omega Edition, which won’t return for the 2025 model year. This limited-run variant includes a unique matte paint finish, unique wheels, and a few other unique accents.
Both Hummer EV models ride on the GM BT1 platform, powered by Ultium Batteries and Ultium Drive motors.
For the 2025 GMC Hummer EV, the Sky Panel Storage Set returns.
The 2025 Hummer EV Pickup will be available in just two trims: 2X and 3X. The 3X trim level will be available in two different powertrain configurations, including a tri-motor model with a 20-module battery and a tri-motor model with a 24-module battery.

So you’re saying metaphorically that the Hummer EV can’t even win a tallest midget contest?
Of those mentioned, the only ones I’d even be a passenger in is the Rivian and the Ford. The hummer and especially ct are eyesores.
Hey GM Authority, you need a separate forum for EV (toys). They are not real trucks.
Pretty tired of them clogging up real truck news.
Do you know how to identify a real truck? By how slow they are and the cloud of smoke behind them.
And yet you read and comment on EV articles.
I do not read them. Worthless information.
I’m seeing more Hummer EV SUVs and while it looks cool its stupid massive in size. That being said I’d be interested in one if they reduced its size some.
Wrong. 2929 is Hummer truck and SUV sales combined. If you’re going to do that, R1T and R1S combined US sales for Q2 were 13,171.
It’s great to see the Hummer continue to entrench itself into pop culture. I’m seeing them nearly as much as the CT now.
Wow, been out for more than a year and there is no excitement for the Hummer at all. Tesla just made it’s debut and blowing everyone out of the water overnight. I see them all over the place. Hummer on the other hand is like a sasquatch sighting. What makes them think that the GMC Sierra EV will make any kind of sales splash? The Hummer is overpriced.
When Hummer was in demand GM couldn’t build them. They were being flipped for $200k-$300k. Now its old news. GM missed that boat.
They missed the boat. What a surprise. This ship has sailed. It’s hard to reconquer sales. If they lowered the price by 25K the sales would soar.
Interesting to see that the discontinued Bolts sold much better last year than the combined Equinox, Blazer, Silverado and Hummer did this year. I think the market for inexpensive EVs is the best one to be in, and we will for sure know when the Bolt returns in 2026.
Of course we will have to see if the Tesla Cyber Truck (expensive) contiues to dominate in sales, or whether this is a niche that falls off. The next coming quarters will be interesting.
Also, why is Rivian getting beat so bad? I guess the VW assistance hasn’t kicked in yet.
They’re not going to sell a lot of these. Back in the day, if a model sold under 70,000 units a year, it’d be cancelled. In a year and half, over a quarter million 69 Camaro’s were sold. Though considered not a good car, in seven years almost 2 MILLION Vega’s were sold. There’s a lot of models that have dismal sales that should be canceled.
The Lyriq sales numbers are missing in the GM EV Q2 totals.
Lyriq sold 7294 in Q2.
Super…
