Fallen Palm Tree Smashes Chevy Silverado In Florida: Video

Florida and the eastern U.S. were slammed with flooding and heavy rain as Tropical Storm Debby continued to wreak havoc over the weekend. Just last week, we covered a video posted to social media showing a Chevy Colorado swallowed up by a washed-out road in Florida. Now, we’re checking out another video documenting the storm’s destruction, this time with a Chevy Silverado at the center of the incident.
The video is only a few seconds long, and according to the comments section, was captured on Palm Beach Boulevard in Ft. Meyers, Florida, just before Hurricane Debby made landfall.
The video was captured by a passenger in another vehicle, and as it gets underway, we see a line of palm trees along a road and dark clouds above. A police vehicle is seen with its emergency lights activated. As the vehicle with the passenger slowly rolls forward, the frame begins to reveal a single-cab, long-bed GMT900 Chevy Silverado WT with a commercial cap in back. The vehicle appears to be pinned to the ground, and as the video progresses, we see why – a massive palm tree has fallen on top of it.
As we get a better angle, we see just how bad the damage is. The massive tree is resting on top of the Chevy Silverado’s hood, with the front end smashed into the pavement by the weight. Miraculously, the tree appears to have missed the cabin, and according to the video description, the driver walked away unharmed.
Crazy stuff, and a reminder of just how destructive Mother Nature can be. Debby initially hit Florida as a Category 1 hurricane, then weakened into a tropical storm before gaining momentum on its path up along the south east of the U.S., resulting in widespread flooding and a huge amount of damage. It’s believed that eight people were killed as a result of the storm, including from falling trees.

Ouch. It didn’t hit the cab where driver could have been killed.
That truck is hurt bad, two more feet and the driver would have been crushed.
So??? If a tree falls……
Right! -I didn’t hear it!
