Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax Diesel Turning Quickly On Dealer Lots

Chevy Silverado 1500 pickups equipped with the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine are currently turning in less than 40 days at Chevy dealerships, GM Authority has learned, referring to the amount of time a vehicle spends on the dealer lot before selling.
This info shows the Chevy Silverado with the LZ0 turbodiesel is selling well, since the extremely popular variant powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine is turning only slightly faster currently, in about 34 days on average.
Given its fuel economy, it’s perhaps not too surprising that the Chevy Silverado 1500 cradling the LZ0 turbodiesel under the hood is a popular choice. Its combined fuel economy average is 24 miles per gallon when equipped with 4WD, which compares favorably with the gasoline-powered models.
Notably, the same Chevy Silverado motivated by the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine offers a combined fuel economy of 19 mpg, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine gets 17 mpg combined, and the aforementioned naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine also provides only 17 mpg combined.
Current inventory for Chevy vehicles was stable with a 69 days supply as of May 2024.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 is set to begin production in mid-August, and will usher in mostly minor changes and updates compared to the 2024 model year. These include some adjustments to tire and transmission options, changes to driver convenience technology including the deletion of the Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD7) in favor of Front and Rear Park Assist (RPO UD5), and a handful of other updates.
Most notably, the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 is getting the Universal Vehicle Module (RPO code KGU) as an option on the WT trim only, providing more flexibility for upfitters. Four paint colors will be dropped from the lineup for 2025, including Dark Ash Metallic (color code G6M), Glacier Blue Metallic (GLT), Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN) and Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP), while two others, Cypress Gray (GBD) and Riptide Blue Metallic (GJV) will be added.
Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 ranges from $38,995 for a rear-wheel drive WT trim pickup with a Regular Cab, Standard Bed configuration to a maximum starting MSRP of $78,590 for the ZR2 Bison with 4WD and the L87 engine. All trim level prices were increased by anywhere from $100 to $800 compared to the 2024 model year.
Production of the 2025 Chevy Silverado will kick off on August 19th, 2024 for the Regular Cab and Crew Cab body styles and on August 26th, 2024 for the Double Cab configuration. The GM T1 platform will continue to provide the underpinnings, while production will take place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

What are the transmission changes for 2025?
No changes. 4 cylinder = 8 speed, everything else 10 speed
The article says there are transmission adjustments for 2025, I’m wondering what they are. Just want to be sure that no additional applications of the 8-spd.
I have a 2023 and I love that engine and the transmission is butter smooth.
I can get over 30mpg on the highway and 27+ in combined driving

Seriously some people are really behind in the times.
Without all the emission crap like EGR cooling – DPF -Regens.to keep it clean -DEf tank and fluid with all the myriad of sensors and wiring it can be a 35 mpg truck and even more reliable ! Makes you wonder were the EPA have there heads at

I read that there is no chance the diesel power plant will return in the midsized twins.
I been a gm truck man for 30 yrs on and off had every engine they got the 5.3 was great before afm/dfm had a 6.2 drop a lifter ,I currently drive a gmc 3.0 lzo 2wd and average 33 miles hwy 26 city and where I live diesel is cheaper than premium gas ,I love love my truck and it pulls like a freight train
