For those race fans out there who have dreamed of owning a legit piece of NASCAR history, this might be the perfect opportunity. This 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo NASCAR, driven by none other than Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the 2007 Pepsi 400, is currently up for auction at no reserve. The auction will end in five days.
This particular Monte Carlo is significant for a few different reasons. Not only does it have a deep connection to Dale Earnhardt Jr., but it’s also one of the last Gen 4 NASCAR models produced before the series transitioned to the “Car of Tomorrow” for Gen 5. Under the hood, you’ll find a 5.9L V8 engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The car is also equipped with all the essential features for competition, including Brembo brake calipers, a roll cage, a quick-release steering wheel, full aero, Sabelet harnesses, and a fire suppression system. The exterior shows a red Budweiser livery and black 15-inch wheels shod in Goodyear Eagle racing slicks.
The car’s history is steeped in Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s racing career, although it was one of several vehicles he drove during the 2007 NASCAR season. Built by Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, this Monte Carlo showcases a variety of race-specific settings designed to give the driver an edge on different types of tracks, such as unique camber settings, caster angles, and spring heights, all fine-tuned for oval track competition.
While it may not be a championship-winning car, this Monte Carlo is still a genuine piece of NASCAR history. Now, it’s up fro grabs at Cars & Bids, with the auction set to close on August 26th at 10:24 AM PDT. The current highest bid of four placed thus far is set at $15,000. The vehicle is located in Miami, Florida.
