NASCAR driver Chase Elliott is set to debut a special new livery on his Chevy Camaro ZL1 race car and race gear at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 8th. The unique designs are part of the “DESI9N TO DRIVE” art program, a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Chase Elliott Foundation, in partnership with Hendrick Motorsports and NAPA Auto Parts. The program allows young patients from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to design the livery and race gear used on track, with this year marking the eighth consecutive year of the initiative.
The 2024 livery and race suit were designed by two young patients, 11-year-old Gavyn Giansiracusa and 13-year-old Logan Lee. Giansiracusa, diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022, and Lee, diagnosed with leukemia in 2023, infused their personal interests into the designs, which feature vibrant red, white, and blue themes with elements like music, fireworks, and cake.
Chase Elliott expressed his excitement about the program, stating, “The DESI9N TO DRIVE schemes are my favorite of the year, and I always look forward to spending time with the patients before the race, hearing their stories, and feeling their love for life. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta does so much good for the local community and continues to expand their facilities. To partner at my home track with Atlanta-based NAPA makes this even more special.”
Through the program, the Chase Elliott Foundation and its partners have raised and donated nearly $400,000 over the past seven years. Fans can support the cause by participating in an online sweepstakes fundraiser at desi9ntodrive.org, running from August 13th to October 9th. Prizes include pieces of Elliott’s race-worn gear and a VIP meet-and-greet experience, with all proceeds benefiting the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Emily Schneider, Senior Director of Marketing at NAPA, also shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “Partnering with Chase and his impactful foundation for another year to support Children’s is an honor. We can’t wait to see the designs on the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet and look forward to the positive impact for Children’s following this year’s sweepstakes.”
