The GM Authority Take
Cadillac XT6 sales continue to lag behind its crosstown rival, the Lincoln Aviator while being trounced by competitors sporting newer models. That includes the refreshed 2025 Aviator, which is on its way to take on Cadillac’s largest crossover. However, no update has been announced for the North American XT6, even though a new Cadillac XT6 will debut this year in China. But we can keep hoping and wishing, so here are five things we’d like to see from the XT6 update for the States.
However, Buick’s largest crossover did receive an update, ironically making the all-new 2025 Buick Enclave even bigger than Cadillac’s counterpart. Combining sales of the Enclave and XT6 kept GM in fourth place overall.
Among other competitors, the new 2025 QX60 is ditching its naturally aspirated V6 for a turbocharged four-cylinder as the only engine available going forward. The XT6, of course, continues to offer a V6 along with a turbo-four, even though the  GM 3.6L V6 engine is nearly extinct. The Acura MDX is the only other model in this segment to still offer a V6.
About Cadillac XT6
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 arrives as the fourth model year of the first generation of the luxury marque’s largest crossover. It received a few changes and updates, the most significant being a trio of accent packages GM debuted: the new Red Accent Package, Blue Accent Package, and Bronze Accent Package.
The 2025 Cadillac XT6 arrives with a few small changes and updates over the preceding 2024 model year. That includes the GM Super Cruise hands-free semi-autonomous driver assistance feature now offered as part of the Platinum Package, available on both the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels. Additionally, the Onyx Package is now available on the Luxury trim for 2025.
Here are all the 2025 XT6 paint colors and interior colorways available, along with all the wheels offered.
On the all-electric front, the Cadillac Lyriq is the luxury marque’s first-ever EV and its all-electric replacement for the aging Cadillac XT5, which has also been bypassed for an update in North America while China gets an all-new XT5 for 2025. The new all-electric 2025 Cadillac Optiq is now the entry-level EV offering to eventually replace the XT4, which did receive a refresh for the 2024 model year. These models precede the larger 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, an all-electric three-row crossover set to round out the EV portfolio, slotting in the same space occupied by the Cadillac XT6. The Cadillac Escalade IQ full-sizer will slot above the Vistiq.
Additionally, a Cadillac V-Series EV is set to debut this year, likely as the Cadillac Lyriq-V.

Comments
XT5 and XT6 are abysmal and are the only products really holding the brand back in the U.S. at this point. They are old and tired. Let them rest. The Vistiq can’t come soon enough. Cadillac really needs a competitive 3-row.
Numbers like this got Impala, Camaro, Cruise….killed Meanwhile I have been waiting about two months for a XT4 “in Transita’ to make it from KC to Memphis dealer.
Cadillac is loosing really good customers. Been waiting on any news from Cadillac, (will the XT6 follow its corporate cousins, Traverse, Acadia, Enclave, and be refreshed for the US market?) we are probably going to move over to Lexus. We’re definitely not ready to purchase electric, and will not buy the dated XT6 that looks exactly the same as a 2020. Really disappointing Cadillac .
