In regard to consumer satisfaction, Buick was ranked quite well in the recent 2024 America Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) study.
With a score of 80 out of a possible 100 points in the mass-market segment, the Tri-Shield brand was ranked fifth overall and saw a one-percent jump in its score compared to the 2023 calendar year. Subaru led the pack with a score of 83 points and a subsequent percentage change of one percent, while Chrysler had the worst score of 71 points. For context, Buick posted a similar score in the 2023 rendition of the ACSI study.
It’s worth noting that the average score in the mass-market segment was 79 points, meaning Buick ranked just one point above average for 2024.
Interestingly, General Motors’ other mass-market brands – including Chevy and GMC – were given the same score of 79 points.
There were several key takeaways from the mass-market segment of this study, including:
- Five of the top six highest mass-market nameplates for customer satisfaction were import brands
- While satisfaction improvement was flat overall, metrics for gas mileage and vehicle technology both showed notable gains
- Continued high levels of ACSI performance for Subaru and Toyota were reflected in the two automaker’s sales gains
- Kia, Ford, Volkswagen, and Ram all posted strong 2024 ASCI gains
- Customers are more highly satisfied with hybrid or ICE-power vehicles as compared to EVs
For context, the 2024 ACSI Automobile Study was based on 12,173 completed surveys, chosen at random and contacted via email between July 2023 and June 2024. Contacted consumers were asked to evaluate their recent experiences with automobile brands manufactured by the largest companies in terms of market share, plus an aggregate category consisting of all other—and thus smaller—automotive nameplates. ACSI scores were then given, ranging from zero to 100.

It would be nice if the buicks were made in the USA most of the Buick fleet is made overseas.SAD.
I’ll add to that. If the Buick’s were made in the USA AND if they actually offered a darn car.
The other day I was walking through a parking lot and saw a white SUV (go figure). I could only see the side view and I was about 15 feet from the thing. I’m not being sarcastic when I tell you that I absolutely could NOT tell what it was. At first I thought it was a Hyundai or Nissan. Having trouble telling, I stopped and was determined to figure out (guess) what brand it was. From the 15′, I couldn’t so I walked a few feet closer. Still nothing. A few feet more and it wasn’t till I could make out the emblem on the center of the rims that I realized it was a Buick.
I walked away deflated. Such bland and boring boxes of nothing.
Wish they wouldn’t have chased off half the Buick dealer network so the closest one wasn’t 30 miles away.
If a Buick dealership closes, and there isn’t anyone old around to notice, does it make a sound?
Try driving 120 miles to buy a Cadillac instead of 50 as local dealer gave up franchise as after 60 or so years saw no reason to go EV.
