2025 Corvette ZR1 In Rapid Blue: First Real-World Photos

GM pulled the sheets on the new 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 late last month, showing off the fastest, most powerful production vehicle to ever wear a Corvette badge. All that speed and power is complemented by new aerodynamics, which bless the C8 ZR1 with its own unique look. Now, we’re checking out what the new ZR1 looks like in the real world thanks to the following GM Authority photos.
Recently spotted by GM Authority photographers out on public roads, this particular 2025 Corvette ZR1 is covered in Rapid Blue paint (paint code GMO), which gives the mid-engine sports car an electrifying, exotic appearance. This particular model is also a convertible, although the ZR1 is offered as a coupe as well.
The front end of the Corvette ZR1 shows off a set of large air intakes and a black front wing design, while lower in the bumper, we spot a black splitter. The hood also incorporates a flow-through design that enhances downforce and provides greater cooling for the intercooler. Notably, the flow-through hood deletes the front trunk storage area.
Moving into the sides, we see large side air intakes and smaller secondary intakes, while the multi-spoke wheels are finished in black, providing a nice offset to the bright blue paint and complementing the other black trim bits. Under the rollers, we see a set of large yellow brake calipers, which clamp down on drilled rotors.
The rear end shows off four central exhaust pipes, while up on the rear hatch, there’s a wicker bill-style spoiler. The optional ZTK performance package adds in the massive high-downforce rear wing seen previously, among other aero elements.
As a reminder, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 cradles the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 gasoline engine as standard, rated at 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque. All C8 variants ride on the GM Y2 platform, and every unit is produced at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Wow. That’s underwhelming. Certainly not something I’d consider paying 100K over sticker for.
As usual, there might be “more sizzle than steak” at this time, but there are limitations, probably mostly safety wise at this time but rest assured, like the Mighty Z06 C8 that came before this ZR1 iteration, when the “real deal” finally makes it to the automotive magazine editors and testers, I’m pretty sure everyone is going to absolutely go crazy when they see just how amazing this vehicle really is…and the wait will be worth it, but the actual cost to the new car buyer, eh, not so much.
But that’s nothing new is it? Anything this wild and impressive always cost more than what some of us feel is “realistic”, it’s the way things work, whether it’s an Italian, or a British Super Car ect. the price is going to be “way out there” because of supply and demand, and only the well healed need apply for ownership, but that’s okay too, perhaps in time the prices of a well maintained used ZR1 will become more realistic…that is after the futuristic C8 “Zora” makes the scene, then once again everything will change (for the better, always) and the huge hype will start all over again! Should be really interesting. with no disappointments I can almost guarranty it knowing how the Corvette Engineering Team works, simply “wait for it” and when the latest and maybe the last “C8” (Zora) does finally arrive…We’ll get to do this all over again!
Who in the world is gonna be able to afford these cars. I have had 4 corvettes, and the last was 2005 and it was a little over $50000.00 and the price just keeps going up and up. Lord knows what that 1000 hp vett is gonna cost. But these cars are for those people with all the money.
Joe…that’s why they still make a base stingray for around $65,000, which when adjust for inflation, is a LOT less than the 50K you paid in 2005. For that money, you still get 495HP and a pretty fantastic car, although I’m sure most Corvettes are going for somewhere between 70 – 90K these days.
The ZR1 is in another league compared to the stingray, and so are it’s customers, in terms of their wealth.
Rumor is $150k starting to $200k-ish top optioned. Others have said $184k, we will see.
