The C8 Corvette ZR1 drops in as the new range-topper of the mid-engine Corvette lineup, debuting for the 2025 model year with over 1,000 horsepower. In conjunction with all that go-fast goodness, the new ZR1 also debuts new styling, courtesy of tweaked aero bits front to back. Now, we’re taking another look at the 2025 Corvette ZR1 Coupe, this time in Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat paint, as seen in the following GM Authority Real-World Photos.
Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat paint is tagged with paint code GPH, and is one of 10 exterior paint colors on offer for the new C8 ZR1. We previously published a series of real-world photos showing the 2025 ZR1 Convertible in Rapid Blue (paint code GMO), but now, we’re looking at the Coupe model in this deep Red Mist hue.
The new C8 ZR1 can accelerate up to a claimed top speed of 215 mph, and to that end, the new aero setup helps to keep it glued to the pavement. The new aero also lends the ZR1 a new look, starting up front with a flow-through hood design that provides higher levels of front-end downforce and improved intercooler cooling.
The sides of the vehicle show off a set of large multi-spoke wheels, which get a black finish and complement the other black body components sprinkled across the Coupe’s exterior. Underneath the large black wheels is a set of high-performance brakes, with red calipers matched to drilled brake rotors. The side view also shows off a set of secondary side intakes just ahead of the rear wheels.
Moving into the rear, we find this particular 2025 Corvette ZR1 running a massive rear wing, which is part of the optional ZTK performance package and is joined by other aero elements for maximum stick at speed. Finishing it all off is a quartet of exhaust pipes.
Underneath the rear hatch, you’ll find the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 gasoline engine, while the GM Y2 platform provides the underpinnings. Production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Why, oh why, oh why does GMC feel the need to use such a plethora of adjectives to describe a simple paint color? It is an ever growing trend that seems to have no end in sight.
I am owner of a 2021 C8 Corvette Stingray convertible in “ceramic matrix gray metallic’”. It has become sooo very tiresome to have to respond to the “what color is THAT?” inquiries with: “ceramic matrix gray metallic, which is way too many words for a paint color”.
I can hardly wait until I can purchase my future PHEV C8 in:
“Bermuda Triangle Crashing Surf Mist Spray Metallic Matrix Tint Coat Deep Water Blue” !
Needs some chrome….
Days of chrome are over.
And yet Old Man Maroon continues on . . .
No chrome?? Only if you are a Mennonite.
