The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq represents the third model year for the battery electric luxury crossover, for which it gets a few updates and changes headlined by the discontinuation of the base Tech trim (leaving Sport and Luxury as the remaining trims) along with changes to the exterior color palette.
The 2025 model carries over all colors that were available on the 2024 Lyriq, but with a caveat – some color options are restricted to one of two remaining trim levels. Specifically, Nimbus Metallic (G7X) and Opulent Blue Metallic (GTR) are no longer available on Luxury trims, while Emerald Lake Metallic (C6I) and Celestial Metallic (GJY) are no longer available on Sport trims.
In addition, the Black-painted roof returns for the 2025 Lyriq as a $600 option. It can be added to a color (technically with the exception of Stellar Black Metallic, which already has a black roof).
Visual changes aside, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq sees 24 percent fewer parts than the 2024 model thanks to an elimination of several subsystems and buildable electrical combinations, helping to reduce complexity and cost.
The 2025 Lyriq will continue to be available in either rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD). Rear-drive models will feature a single GM Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle, good for 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Stepping up to the Lyriq AWD means equipping it with a pair of electric motors – one on each axle – to produce a combined 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of drivetrain, all Lyriqs sold in North America use the 102 kWh GM Ultium battery.
Range shouldn’t change for the 2025 model year. The 2024 Lyriq RWD is rated at 314 miles of range from a single charge, while the AWD model is 307 miles. No more details have been spilled on the upcoming Lyriq-V, which is expected to make more power and torque than the AWD variant.
The Lyriq rides on GM’s BEV3 platform, and production of the 2025 model is expected to begin on September 9th at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. As we reported earlier this year, the Lyriq is coming off a record quarter during Q2 2024.

GM’s paint department just can’t get its act together; it’s been a bloody mess for a few years now!
All colors should be available on all trim levels. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle, which means the customer should get what the customer wants… especially something that is so easy for the manufacturer to provide!
Any word on built-in NACS chargeport vs. the CCS the 2022-2024 models have?
Any word on it coming with a Heads Up Display?
No HUD in this thing? WOW, my 2019 Mazda CX-3 has that option as part of the $1,100 iActive package and the vehicle only cost $24K before trade and discounts applied.
