A unique 1953 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is currently up for auction, offering a blend of classic luxury and stylish customization. The exterior showcases an eye-catching aesthetic with white body panels, unique pink accents, and red pinstriping, complemented by a white convertible top and red leather interior. The look is enhanced even further thanks to a set of 15-inch wire wheels wrapped in whitewall tires. The auction for this classic Caddy is set to conclude early next week.
According to the listing, this ’53 Cadillac Convertible was acquired by its late owner in 1996 and is listed by the seller on behalf of the owner’s estate.
Underneath the rounded hood line, this Cadillac is powered by a 331 cubic-inch V8 engine, which was originally rated at 210 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque from the factory. The V8 is paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and factory-spec power steering. The car was also equipped with aftermarket air suspension; however, the rest of the vehicle appears to be mechanically stock.
The exterior features classic 1950s Cadillac design elements, including an egg-crate grille, vertical tailfins, chrome bumpers, chrome headlight surrounds, and other chrome trim. Dual exhaust outlets are integrated into the rear bumper. The power-operated white convertible top is accompanied by a red top boot.
Inside, the Cadillac’s red leather interior is a real eye-grabber, showing off with power windows, a heater, a clock, and an old-school push-button radio. Drivers grip a two-spoke steering wheel, while the gauge cluster houses a speedometer (up to 110 mph), fuel level, and coolant temperature gauges. A pair of VDO vacuum gauges were added as well, hidden under the dash.
Decoding the Fisher data plate, we find this drop-top Cadillac was originally painted in Artisan Ochre, paired with a black soft top. Now, it’s on offer with a clean New Jersey title and 29,000 miles on the clock. As of this writing (8/28/2024), the current highest bid placed so far is set at $25,000, with the auction set to end on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Those “unique pink accents” are awful. They could have looked really nice if they had been subtle and painted professionally, but these look like they were achieved with two cans of Krylon and 12 cans of PBR.
Not like the cookie cutter caddys of today. This car is beautiful.
Someone’s idea of the dreaded “P” word……(Patina).
I’m sorry, but why would you ruin such a stunning car with that paint work and maybe worse, the fugly fake spare tire kit glued to the rear bumper?
God made some great automotive designers over the years who knew what they were doing (not so much today). Great designs should never be denigrated as such.
Classic car. Horrid graffiti.
