Xfinity NASCAR Chevy Teams Salvage Decent Results At Nashville: Video

While they didn’t win the Xfinity Series race at Nashville Superspeedway on June 29th, 2024, a pair of NASCAR Chevy teams rallied back from suboptimal starting positions to finish inside the top five.

Those two cars were the No. 2 Chevy Camaro SS of Jesse Love and the No. 21 Camaro of Austin Hill. Love, in particular, proved that his No. 2 Camaro was better than his 38th-place starting position seemed to indicate. In fact, Love completed 69 passes throughout the day on his way to his third-place finish, keeping his nose clean as he powered through the field.

To add an extra layer of complication, Love battled a malfunctioning cooling suit all day, meaning he had to deal with the Tennessee heat within the cockpit without help.

“I have no idea,” Love said when asked how he managed to pull off such a stellar result. “Just proud to be part of a team that doesn’t give up. That was probably the hottest I’ve ever been. Just proud of my guys.”

Hill wound up fourth after an up-and-down day that forced him to battle through the field. AJ Allmendinger was the next-best NASCAR Chevy team, bringing the No. 16 Camaro to a seventh-place finish, followed by Justin Allgaier’s No. 7 Camaro in eighth. John Hunter Nemechek, driver of the No. 20 Toyota TRD Supra, led from the final restart to win.
