The 2025 Corvette ZR1 had its big reveal yesterday, with General Motors pulling the sheets on a 1,064-horsepower beast capable of clipping off sub-10-second quarter miles and charging up to 215 mph. As the fastest and most powerful production vehicle to ever wear a Corvette badge, the debut of the new ZR1 is an epic moment, to be sure. Now, you can relive the 2025 Corvette ZR1 reveal in Miami with the following GM Authority video.
GM Authority was on the scene earlier this week as General motors officially unveiled the new ZR1, and we’re serving up the full presentation in the video above.
The presentation includes a brief summary of the C8 Corvette‘s evolution, from the Stingray, to the Z06, to the E-Ray, as well as a look back at earlier Corvette ZR1 models. Later, we see GM President Mark Reuss drive onto the stage in the new C8 ZR1 Coupe, followed by the C8 Corvette ZR1 Convertible, driven on stage by Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter.
After a few quick words, we get into the specs. Just behind the cabin, the ZR1 boasts the twin-turbocharged 5.5L LT7 V8, delivering 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque, making the LT7 the most powerful V8 engine ever produced by an American automaker. The ZR1 also features significant aerodynamic enhancements, with a large rear wing and other add-ons providing over 1,200 pounds of downforce, crucial for keeping the Vette planted to the pavement at high speeds.
The presentation also includes a quick discussion of the interior, as well as a tribute to Juechter, who’s retiring after 47 years at GM.
Finally, around the 18-minute mark, we hear the sound of the new LT7 as the ZR1 blasts around the race track, all 1,000 horsepower put to use.
As a reminder, all C8 Corvette variants ride on the GM Y2 platform, and each unit is produced at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Looks like an 8th grader drew it in study hall
I was on a waiting list with a deposit to order a Z06 for 2.5 years before I canceled it. I’ve now been on a waiting list for an E-Ray for a year, and the dealer told me I should be able to place an order this fall. We’ll see how that goes.
Yesterday, I received a call from my original Z06 dealer, a little over three years later, asking if I still wanted to order my Z06. He mentioned that many customers are transferring their deposits from the Z06 to the ZR1, making the Z06 more readily available. I politely told him I am waiting to place an order for an E-Ray.
My biggest concern is the production line capacity, given that one line is now producing four different models. This will likely reduce the number available by model. I hope GM shares their production numbers by model for 2025.
One line has always been producing 4 different models for the Corvette for many generations of this Vehicle, this is nothing new.
What a great way to end a 40+ year career Ted. It’s a marvelous achievements, thanks again.
The car style is great. I like to see above is the track times it will be making. It’s a great appealing car and something that will put the Germans and Italians on notice.
