Upcoming Cadillac Vistiq Spotted For First Time In China

In late 2023, SAIC-GM officially confirmed the all-new Cadillac Vistiq as one of Cadillac‘s launches in China this year, and now, the upcoming three-row all-electric crossover has been spotted for the first time during its testing in the Asian country.

The Cadillac Vistiq has just been spotted for the first time in China, where the zero-emission model is set to launch this year as part of Cadillac’s portfolio electrification strategy. The all-new Vistiq was confirmed by GM’s main joint venture in the country as the third EV the luxury brand will introduce to the Chinese market, following the Cadillac Lyriq and the all-new Cadillac Optiq recently launched in China.

Spy photographers have captured the first two camouflaged prototypes of the upcoming Cadillac Vistiq spotted in China, both parked in different locations and with distinct differences in camouflage. One of the Vistiq test units was spotted through a fence sporting black canvas protective covers on the sides and rear, while the second prototype was found in a public parking lot covered only by the usual zebra-type vinyl wrap.

In particular, camouflaged prototypes of the Cadillac Vistiq in public indicate that the model is in the final stages of testing in China and its launch is imminent. In addition, the partially camouflaged Vistiq unit can be seen equipped with a radar system on the roof for testing SAIC-GM’s autonomous driving systems that could be debuted by Cadillac’s new family crossover.

The upcoming Cadillac Vistiq is an all-electric, three-row, mid-size family crossover that features its own interpretation of the brand’s new design language, built on GM’s BEV3 platform and Ultium battery architecture. In fact, the Vistiq is part of Cadillac’s upcoming ‘LOVE’ IQ EV lineup in the country, comprising the Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq, and the Cadillac Escalade IQ – which is also coming to the Chinese market.

Cadillac ‘LOVE’ IQ EV

The upcoming Cadillac Vistiq is expected to be officially unveiled in China and start arriving at local Cadillac IQ dealerships sometime in the second half of this year, according to SAIC-GM’s rollout schedule for Cadillac’s all-electric models. Like the Cadillac Lyriq and Optiq, the all-new Vistiq will be manufactured locally to cater to the highly competitive Chinese market.

  2. China has little interest in non-Chinese-branded vehicles. Get a clue, GM.
And as for ANOTHER EV, also get a clue. You have too many already.

  3. I wonder what Cadillacs would look like if they were designed to American tastes again. I don’t find any of these Caddy EVs to be particularly attractive and certainly not in the way Cadillacs once were. They’re all very of-the-moment. The Vistiq is the best of the bunch but it too is just another SUV lacking the design artistry (think ‘67 Eldorado) we once got from Cadillac. I think that’s because like so many other ugly modern cars (BMW maybe) they are designed to appeal to the Chinese and to an American they’re simply overwrought and tacky.

  5. The upcoming Vistiq (if priced correctly) can dominate the three row Luxury CUV BEV segment.
Seems to have great size. Hopefully it’ll have at least 300 miles of range as a minimum and charging speed of at least 250kW

    1. I think it’s going to use the same pack as the Lyriq or maybe they will borrow the pack from the Celestiq

So will be anywhere between a 102 kWh or 111 kWh pack so 190 kW or 200 kW charging speed.

Will have 290-300 Mile range at max IMO.

Isn’t this supposed to be much bigger than the Lyriq?
I would be surprised if Cadillac doesn’t utilize an 800 Volt Architecture and allows Kia of all companies to have better option than a Cadillac in the three row CUV segment.
250kW charging speed is a must and can be had with even the 400 Volt system like Tesla.

But you might be right. I mean this is GM we are talking about.

        1. I think it’s sized close to the Lyriq. It just doesn’t taper in the rear like the Lyriq so it has room for the third row.

    2. Define priced correctly. It will be between 80(base) to 100(sport/lux 2/3) without options. Options will push it to 90-125. i was right on the slade IQ, it came out right around my guess. batteries are expensive. And before you go way too much, I saw a story about a woman who got a divorce after she had bought a Y for 75 grand. Imagine a slightly bigger bolt for 75 grand. She was of course upside down to the max after the divorce and wanted to sell it. But could not as the loan was bigger than the value.
