The 2024 GMC Yukon carries on the previous model year’s configuration with only a few minor updates and changes, following the delay of the SUV’s mid-cycle refresh until the 2025 GMC Yukon debuts.
With significant changes to the Yukon’s exterior paint color lineup likely to arrive with the refreshed 2025 model, the retirement of some current colors is certain. Now, GM Authority has learned that three 2024 GMC Yukon paint colors are already built out and no longer available to order, specifically:
- Pearl Beige Metallic (GJW)
- Midnight Blue Metallic (GLU)
- Frosted Pine Metallic (G6N)
It’s unclear right now if this trio of paint colors will return for the 2025 Yukon, but this seems improbable. They will most likely be dropped from the lineup and replaced, making the 2024 GMC Yukon the final model year to feature these specific hues.
Two of the colors now built out were first introduced with the launch of the all-new fifth generation with the 2021 model year. These include Pearl Beige Metallic, one of three light colors available for the 2021 Yukon and priced at $495, and Midnight Blue Metallic, another extra-charge $495 options offered on all trims. Frosted Pine Metallic debuted in 2023 at the same price and could be ordered in conjunction with the SLT, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trim levels.
Succeeding the 2024 GMC Yukon, the 2025 Yukon is expected to begin production on October 7th, 2024, per information previously revealed by GM Authority. The refreshed model will feature signature C-shaped headlights, a roof-mounted communications fin, and the option for 24-inch wheels. Inside is a redesigned dash and center stack accommodating a bigger infotainment screen.
GM Authority spy photographers have also brought you preview images of the Denali and off-road ready AT4 trim levels of the 2025 model year. We’ve also given you a look at the Denali Ultimate trim out testing without camo.
Motivation will include three engine choices, with both the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine developing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque carrying over from the 2024 GMC Yukon. The turbocharged 3.0L I6 LZ0 diesel Duramax engine rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet will replace the 277 horsepower, 460 pound-feet 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel for 2025. Cog swaps will be provided by the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
The GM T1 platform underpins all fifth-gen GMC Yukon SUVs. The Yukon is produced at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, which also builds the Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban and the Cadillac Escalade.

If they’d stop charging for most colors, maybe they would be more popular. GM is out of control with paint upcharges, more so than most.
IDK, Americans are cheap AF, with all these white, silver and black cars on the road. Sooo boring. Seriously y’all can afford a $60k+ truck but no $2k extra to make it look good?
$60K for a pickup … and EXTRA for YOUR color .
Somebody is cheap but it’s NOT the customer .
