For some folks, vehicular enjoyment is relegated to the garage and the car show, with a pristine exterior and immaculate undercarriage being the top priority. For others, it’s all about getting behind the wheel and hitting the road – and if the mood is right, maybe some mud puddles as well. This thoroughly upgraded 1977 Chevy C/K is definitely in the latter category despite the hefty price tag. Now, we’re getting an in-depth look at the build thanks to the following video.
Once again coming to us from the folks at AutotopiaLA, the video provides a review of The Roadster Shop‘s 1977 Chevy C/K “Legends” series. The truck was driven for approximately 1,200 miles over the course of AutotopiaLA‘s Midwest Road Tour. According to the review, the truck was used daily and handled various weather conditions seamlessly, demonstrating its reliability and drivability.
The vehicle in question is a heavily modified classic square body pickup that retains an unassuming exterior, all while housing modern and powerful components. The Legends series truck build is based on a classic K10 or C10 square body pickup from between the 1973 and 1980 model years. The build starts with a Roadster Shop chassis and Fox shocks, including coilovers in the front and leaf springs with Fox adjustable shocks in the rear. The braking system uses discs from a Chevy Silverado, and the front suspension is an independent setup from GM.
Perhaps the most notable upgrade is under the hood, where the truck boasts the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine. Also cradled by the C7-generation Corvette Z06 and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the LT4 produces 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the truck includes push-button four-by-four capability with a transfer case control module, enabling easy switching between two-wheel and four-wheel drive.
Inside, this upgraded Chevy C/K remains basic and true to the truck’s original design, with a bench seat and simple controls. There’s even a cracked dash. Despite its simplicity, it also includes modern conveniences such as a Bluetooth audio system.
The truck’s appearance is intentionally understated, making it suitable for daily use without drawing unwanted attention. However, building a Legends series truck still involves significant modifications and the use of high-quality parts, resulting in an estimated price tag of $250,000. The build process also takes up to two years to complete.

Had a 73′ C-10 new fully loaded 5.7 automatic off the showroom floor for $3,200.00 they were well built dependable trucks. Don’t recall having any problems except keeping gas in the tank. They don’t make them like that any longer.
