Earlier this year, General Motors released a sneak peek of the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon, providing the first official glimpse of the revised full-size SUV. Since then, GM Authority spy photographers have captured live photos of the 2025 Yukon testing out in the wild. With that in mind, the Detroit-based automaker has given an official debut date for the Big Red SUV.
Per its Q2 2024 earnings report, The General has announced that the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon will be revealed on August 19th, 2024.
As a reminder, the 2025 GMC Yukon will be underscored by a reworked exterior design, overhauled interior, and updated powertrain lineup. Regarding the exterior, the front and rear fascias will be tweaked in a way that closely resembles the Sierra EV, while the wheels and 5G-capable comms fin are all-new.
Moving to the cabin, the refreshed Yukon’s interior will be dominated by an enormous two-screen setup. The specs likely include a 15-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch driver information screen. Notably, it’s expected that all 2025 Yukon units will feature the same screen layout.
Under the hood, a familiar powertrain lineup can be found, albeit with a notable difference from the 2024 Yukon. While the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, will remain, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine will be replaced by the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax. The GM 10-speed automatic transmission will serve as the sole transmission offering across the board.
In regard to structure, the revised full-size SUV will continue to be underpinned by the GM T1 platform, while production will continue to take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Starting to look like a Tundra….
I’m not sure why there’s a delay. I expected the reveal to happen after the 2025 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban, but it actually came after the 2025 Cadillac Escalade announcements. It seems like there might be a design issue or uncertainty about how each trim will look.
These aren’t going into production until November… so they still have tons of time to unveil them. If nothing else, the Tahoe/Suburban were revealed too early.
Oh Dear it looks like one of those foreign Suvs all the same no game.
To bad my 23 Denali ultimate has a leaky roof, really wanted to upgrade but the Dealer is playing dumb and not fixing it.
I have a Denali Ultimate XL 2023. It just went over 25000 miles and I started noticing and oil spot on the garage floor. I went right to the dealer and it was a leaking timing chain/belt cover gasket. We made an appointment to get it fixed the next week. We dropped it off and they said it would be several hours before it was done. We got the call to pick it up about 5 hours later and was informed that it was not fixed. It seems other people had the same problem and when they replaced the gasket it leaked worse. I was told GM was working on a re-designed cover to try and fix it. It the mean time, just keep checking the oil level and fill it as needed. I paid over 100K for a vehicle that can’t be fixed at this moment. I wanted to go on a vacation road trip but not now. I can’t take the chance of getting stranded. This seems to be happening at the 25-50K mark. I was told there is a GM Tech Bulletin out on this problem by the dealer tech. Any other people out there with this problem? GM Authority needs to check on this.
I just hope they change that ugly boring minivan rear end….. The front I think looks really sharp but the back end is just plain and not appealing at all..
…
I will think the wheelbase is too narrow. Make the wheels sit wider on the road. These things look like they topple over any second
Lookup definition of wheelbase.
Saw one of these In a Chick Fil a drive thru in Sterling Heights. The model I saw was a white Yukon XL AT4. The front end looks better in person to me. There wasn’t a big change in the back, except for the quad exhaust.

You’ve posted the same comment twice, not necessary. First of all, you didn’t pay enough to get the trouble free version. If you had paid 110k it wouldn’t have this problem. Not sure why people think the amount they pay entitles them to something over those who pay less. So the person who paid 60k or the single mom who pays 30k for an entry level Kia are entitled to have issues but because you paid full price (seriously, who does that on these vehicles, you got taken for a ride pal) you are entitled to not have anything go wrong?
Seriously, an oil spot isn’t going to cause a problem for a road trip, zero risk there it is a DROP OF OIL. Some of these comments are just hilarious!
Why not offer the new small block V8s? They are wearing the same HP/TQ numbers for the past 10 years very thin. The competition has moved past them. Now the diesel is a great upgrade but DEF is not good on engines. Ugh
10? these engines been around since forever. they just keep ruining them with nonsense like DI and AFM and bad assembly.
id jump if they gave me the old 2004 versions without all that junk and the hit on HP and fuel consumption for the sake of something that will just not fail. assuming they can assemble them right that is.
The AFM and DFM are all because of the EPA….abolish the EPA FIRST, and next the government.
Nothing looks organised in this car, either interior, facia, rear nothing. All is just a contraption
I have to agree with you on the interior…exterior it depends. The touchscreen is terrible….
I “THINK” I want a 2025, but the reveal will tell me a little bit more. Unfortunately, it’ll in all likelihood be like its two stablemates in that “here’s the reveal, but you’ll have to wait a while longer to get any details.” I’m currently driving a BMW X5, but as a buddy correctly stated it “I LIKE the X5, but I don’t LOVE it” I previously had an Escalade Sport, which was terrific, except for the thirsty 6.2 V8. I’m THINKING about the AT4 Duramax.
The turn signals are very nice, the interior is nice as well. My only gripe is the rear bottom bumper & the dual exhaust.
I have a 2023 gmc yukon xl denali ultimate 3.0L duramax , i have a problem with the airsuspension the whole vehicle went down and they said they ll fix it. Guess what it took over 2 months and the vehicle not totally fixed its partiall fixed they changed the whole suspension the levelling module costs $5570. And the vehicle still not fixed they said wait for the engineer field they made the vehicle all the way up in the highest level the suspension now is rocked and the ride height controller is not working , the dealer techs said we dont know how to fix it. Yes believe it or not , they dont knoe how to prigramm the airsuspension anyway other than that i honestly guarantee you the duramax engine is so gorgeous , the engine is holding up way much better than the 5.3 or 6.2L
Yes duramax for me too. I’m hearing lots of 30mpg reports in the sierras.
