Following the official unveiling of the all-electric crossover in China back in May, SAIC-GM-Wuling has just revealed new images of the upcoming Baojun Yunhai in China.
General Motors’ second joint venture in China has revealed new official images of the upcoming Baojun Yunhai, the electrified crossover that will mark Baojun’s return to the Asian country’s mainstream passenger-car market. With its two powertrain configurations, the Yunhai will expand the portfolio of GM’s youngest brand after ceasing sales of internal combustion models and focusing on a reduced lineup of EVs.
Just like the first official samples, the new images of the upcoming Baojun Yunhai correspond specifically to the range-topping configuration of the crossover with an all-electric powertrain and reveal the exterior design details based on Baojun’s latest aesthetic language. The zero-emission Yunhai’s body has a modern look with organic shapes and smooth lines that promise high aerodynamic efficiency.
At the front, the Baojun Yunhai EV stands out by presenting a rather clean and fluid appearance with sharp headlights and a daytime running light signature with three horizontal modules, giving it a distinctive look. SGMW claims that the main headlights have a high lighting output, with the high beam irradiation distance exceeding 170 meters or 558 feet, while the illumination width can span up to 6 lanes.
Meanwhile, the rounded rear end of the Baojun Yunhai EV looks well-planted and includes a wide horizontal module that connects the taillights. In addition, the crossover includes a roof-mounted spoiler that integrates a rear monocular camera and a high-mounted brake light, with a blacked-out finish that continues the black-painted roof. Also prominent is the brand’s evolved logo.
The upcoming Baojun Yunhai EV will be officially launched during the third quarter of the year in China, the only country where Baojun has a formal presence and markets its vehicles. As usual, the company will gradually reveal more details of the Yunhai in the coming weeks as it approaches its arrival throughout the brand’s official dealer network. In addition to the EV variant, the crossover will also be offered with a PHEV powertrain that will soon be revealed.
