Here’s When 2025 Chevy Traverse Production Is Scheduled To Start

Along with the minor updates and changes expected in the second model year of the all-new third generation, the 2025 Chevy Traverse is also likely to introduce a new trim level to the existing lineup. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2025 Traverse is currently slated to begin.

The start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Chevy Traverse is currently scheduled for Monday, October 14th, 2024. As is always the case, this date is tentative until production actually begins and could be subject to change at any time in the interim. GM indicates that it will begin taking dealer orders on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024.

In addition to the aforementioned minor updates, we expect the launch of a Premier trim level to accompany the debut of the 2025 Chevy Traverse. The Premier will join the current trim level lineup of LS, LT, Z71, and RS trims as the range-topping variant in place of the retired High Country trim. GM Authority spy photographers captured a Premier in the wild in a Michigan parking lot in mid-March of this year.

The Premier featured silver exterior trim, marking it as a higher-level variant, including C-shaped silver trim for the front fascia. The RS trim, the highest trim level currently available, features dark trim instead. The rear hatch includes a Premier badge. The model rides on large split-spoke wheels with an estimated 22-inch diameter.

The current Traverse is exclusively motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at a GM-estimated 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Most trims offer standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive, except for the Z71, which gets AWD as standard.

Under the body panels, the Traverse uses the GM C1 platform for structure. Once production of the 2025 model year begins, it will continue to take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

  1. Doubtful. They 2024s just started hitting dealer floors six weeks ago and a lot of orders from winter still haven’t been filled. Add in some of the common complaints that are popping up like folding headrest issue, transmission recall for some, etc.

Seems like a pipe dream that there start production in just three months for the 2025s. But what do I know.

  2. Are those HP and Torque listings correct? Why the lower rating than the 2024?

      1. That’s what I thought. But the HP and Torque were originally listed as lower in the posting above. Someone at GMAuthority corrected it without a comment.

  6. I like the 2025 traverse . i wish that GM would offer the color orange, and remove the third row seats, I could use the storage space. Does anybody at GM read and follow thru on customer comments?

    1. I’m with you, I wish they would offer it in a 2 row option that would leave room for an upgraded fuel tank size plus extra trunk space. I’m still going to get the traverse but not for the 3rd row but for the trunk space when it’s folded down.

  10. Search for * Chevy Traverse Problems * group on Facebook.

When we search 2024 in the group’s search bar, the 2024 reported consumer issues are concerning. Some quite alarming for a new vehicle.

I’m wondering if they should’ve bothered with a new engine.

  11. I would like to see the 2025 Traverse with the 6 cylinder option. I know it has a Turbo Charged 4, but Turbo’s in my experience wear thin in about 5 years. The 4 Cylinder we had in our Equinox was not strong enough for it. The Traverse is much larger and needs a stronger engine.
