Here’s When 2025 BrightDrop Zevo Production Is Scheduled To Start

The 2025 BrightDrop Zevo 400 and 2025 BrightDrop Zevo 600 all-electric commercial van models will introduce several important changes that were originally supposed to debut with the 2024 model year of the vehicles but which never made it into actual production for the outgoing model year.

Now, GM Authority has learned the currently scheduled start of regular production (SORP) date for the two 2025 BrightDrop Zevo variants and their expanded configurations.

Production of the 2025 BrightDrop Zevo, in both 400 and 600 models, is currently set to kick off on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, at the GM CAMI Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada. As usual with production scheduling, this date is tentative and subject to change if conditions warrant postponement.

Notably, the 2024 model year was subject to repeated production halts because of shortages of battery modules needed to produce the BrightDrop vans. One of the longest shutdowns lasted for six months, beginning in September 2023 and ending in April 2024, when renewed battery availability, including modules built at the CAMI plant, enabled production of the BrightDrop vehicles to restart.

The 2025 BrightDrop Zevo will introduce the front-wheel drive variant for both 400 and 600 configurations that was originally supposed to launch for the 2024 model year. Despite original plans to offer FWD for 2024, the actual vehicles that rolled off the assembly line were all produced with all-wheel drive (AWD) only.

The numerous production delays that the 2024 Zevo underwent also prevented the introduction of a planned 14-module battery pack (RPO code EW2). The 14-module pack will be standard on the 2025 BrightDrop Zevo 400 and 600, originally rated to provide a per-charge range of 166 miles. Optionally available is the 20-module battery pack (RPO code ETJ), originally boosting range to 272 miles but offered exclusively on AWD configurations. These range figures are now outdated, though new information is not yet available.

Both the 2025 Zevo 400 and 2025 Zevo 600 make use of GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies for motivation. The Zevo 600 can carry a maximum of 614.7 cubic feet of cargo, while the Zevo 400 offers 412 cubic feet of space. The vans are in service with Walmart, Hertz, FedEx, Verizon, and other enterprises.
