Here Are The Hendrick Motorsports Camaro Liveries For The NASCAR Chicago Street Race: Photos

NASCAR is headed to Illinois for the 2024 Chicago Street Race this weekend, with Cup Series competitors set to thunder through The Windy City for the second time in series history. As expected, Hendrick Motorsports will be on the scene to compete with a fleet of Chevy Camaro race cars. Now, Hendrick has unveiled the Chevy Camaro liveries that will parade around the streets of Chicago this coming Saturday and Sunday.

The Hendrick entries include the No. 5 Valvoline Camaro of Kyle Larson, which arrives fresh off a victory at Sonoma Raceway in California. The Valvoline No. 5 Camaro is draped in a red, white, and blue color scheme, with large red stripes running down the sides, surrounded by white and blue detailing.

Chase Elliott will be behind the wheel of the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts car, featuring a slick white color scheme accented by blue detailing. Elliott will be looking to improve on a third-place finish achieved at last year’s Chicago Street Race.

William Byron will pilot the No. 24 Relay Payments Camaro, which showcases an eye-catching black, green, and white color scheme. Byron managed to secure two road course victories since the 2023 Chicago race, making him a potential frontrunner for the 2024 Chicago event.

Finally, Alex Bowman will drive the No. 48 Ally Racing Camaro, sporting a vibrant purple livery with fuchsia striping. Bowman brings a pair of career runner-up road racing finishes to bear.

The course layout for the Chicago Street Race includes 12 turns spread across 2.2 miles, with barriers on both sides of the track presenting potential hazards for drivers that get it wrong. The 2024 event, like the event in 2023, will take place on Columbus Drive, Jackson Boulevard, Michigan Avenue, Roosevelt Road, Bilbo Drive, and DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The event will kick off on Saturday, July 6th, with racing scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, July 7th.

  1. All NASCAR teams are required to use the same body & chassis. Decals on the front facia & rear hardly make it the late, great Camaro.

  2. “Actual” street race cars are way better looking and more relatable than these generic “dinner rolls”.

Nothing more than rolling billboards / advertising on a vehicle no longer being produced.
