Although the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is generally branded as a go-anywhere, do-anything monster, at its core it’s still a truck and is thus capable of performing truck duties. So with that being said, today we’re taking a look at 2024 Hummer EV Pickup payload capacities.
As reference, all three Hummer EV Pickup models were given ratings, including the 2X, 3X and range-topping 3X Omega Edition. Of course, as is the case with all General Motors trucks, a payload label affixed to the B-pillar indicates that particular vehicle’s exact weight and capacities.

As evidenced above, General Motors claims that the Hummer EV Pickup 2X has a maximum payload capacity of 1,485 pounds, while the 3X and 3X Omega Edition trims boast a lower rating at 1,300 pounds.
In regard to towing capacities, the maximum a 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is rated to pull is 12,000 pounds in the 20-module battery, two-motor configuration. Interestingly, the lowest rating amounts to 7,500 pounds, which applies to all units equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package (RPO code Z6X) boasting all-terrain goodies like skid plates and locking differentials.
As a reminder, GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies work in tandem to power all four wheels. Powertrain configurations consist of either a 20-module or 24-module battery pack, as well as either a two- or three-motor setup. In regard to output, ratings range from 570 horsepower in the 2X trim level to 830 horsepower in the 3X – and even 1,000 horsepower with the aforementioned 24-module battery.
Under the skin, the Hummer EV is underpinned by the wide-body variant of the GM BT1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Congrats Hummer EV owners, you can tow 7500 pounds about 7500 feet before your battery dies and you have to call a guy with a real truck to come tow your pride parade float the rest of the way.

How could you miss they pull 12,000 lbs when not equipped with the Extreme offroad package? It’s literally in the same sentence! Most people don’t order the extreme offroad package since it’s $10k and adds stuff most people would never use off roading…

Ya our dealership outside Calgary has 4 of them. 3 SUV style and 1 pickup. Starts at $154,000 Canadian and the 3X model with 1000 HP is $212,000 with luxury tax!! Salesman said it’s a f@#kin’ waste of lot space. Not 1 interested buyer in 4 months.
