Depending on where you live, conquering the elements to get from A to B can be a bit of an issue. But where there’s a will, there’s a way, and this heavily modified GMC Sierra is definitely a way. Recently spotted in Alaska, this chopped-up pickup looks as though it’s sporting a set of tank treads and should make for quite the ride, assuming it’s running.
Photos of the modified GMC Sierra were posted online by 1320 Video, showing the truck from various angles. Specifics on the pickup aren’t clear, but according to the post description, the truck was spotted in Alaska parked near a small building. The 1320 crew says they saw the top half of the truck while driving by and noticed that it had a very small bed. After stopping and climbing a hill to get a better look, they realized the truck was also riding on a set of tank treads.
It’s unclear if this custom creation actually runs and drives, but the photos reveal extensive modification. The images showcase a heavily modified GMT800 GMC Sierra SL pickup truck with a single cab body. The bed section behind the body is heavily chopped, shortened down to maybe a foot-and-a-half in length. The bed is so short, it resembles a stubby little add-on barely big enough for groceries.
“Still more bed than most truck owners need,” writes one commenter.
Underneath the truck body, there is a custom frame to which the tank treads are attached. It’s possible this vehicle can only turn by reversing one of the treads while driving forward with the other, spinning the truck around its center axis like a top.
“Hey, as long as the heater works, I’d bet it would go places in the snow that no wheeled model could reach,” writes another commenter.
We’d love to see this unique vehicle in action. Regardless, kudos to the individual who made this machine a reality.

Yes!!
Schönen Tag (hot day) von hier aus EU, Germany by 93055 Regensburg …

By 2030 that will be the standard bed length on most pickup trucks, which will also offer three row seating.
Tracks, not treads.
