Earlier this week, Cadillac unveiled the new Sollei concept, a two-door drop-top variant of the Cadillac Celestiq boasting top-shelf amenities, cutting-edge technology, and a few old-school callbacks as well. Indeed, the Cadillac Sollei is quite the piece of design, and is certainly worthy of closer examination. Now, we’re getting a look at the concept sketches that preceded the final product.
The design sketches were posted to social media by the GM Design Instagram feed (@generalmotorsdesign) and include a look at the exterior and interior of the new concept. Checking out the pictures, it appears as though the final product is more or less in line with the original idea, taking the roof off the Celestiq sedan, deleting two of the doors, and restyling the rear end.
Interestingly, the Cadillac Sollei concept drawings show the convertible with the top down and the top up. The roof is finished in a silver-gold color that plays well with the rest of the body panels, the latter of which are covered in a paint called Manila Cream, which is a factory option that Cadillac offered between 1957 and 1958. Other notable design elements include large chrome wheels, while the lower sections of the exterior are finished in black, enhancing the elegant shape with a streamlined appearance.

The Cadillac Sollei design images also provide a glimpse of the interior design scheme, which incorporates unstained wood veneers and open-pore finishes, as well as aluminum trim and Fine Mycelium materials on various surfaces. Other materials include Fine Nappa leather with a pink pigment. The interior features a 2+2 seating arrangement, with a large 55-inch screen mounted on the dash up front, and a smaller infotainment screen in the rear.

All in all, this two-door is quite the looker, no matter the angle.

It’s all about a good looking C-Pillar…..
Another beautiful concept car from Cadillac that will never be sold. This car is a real Cadillac. This is a car I would buy. A SUV or a crossover, never.
Oh l believe that it will be built, of course this vehicle won’t be for the masses but if the $100k+ Escalade is doing well in sales, that could hint it just may be a market for the Sollei, I would love to see this beauty on the road from a production standpoint, even if I couldn’t afford one myself.
Where does GM come up with the crazy model names? Did they misspell Soleil? The wheel/tire combination is horrendous.
…like Escalade, it evokes an idea while being more ownable as a brand. And at least it doesn’t end with -iq.
“. . .and Fine Mycelium materials. . .”
That’s a leather-like composite material made from mushrooms.
It’s cool, but man not hearing the mellow sounds of a V8 kills the soul of it all.
I rather listen to the world around be with the top down.
Another beautiful concept from GM that MaryJoe will never approve.
When you’ve been fooled so many times by Cadillac and one of their concepts, it’s hard to muster any enthusiasm again. It’s a concept. It’ll never be built. The actual production cars never approach the appeal of the concepts and when they finally had the chance to build a large luxury halo sedan with no compromises, they built the Celestiq; a god-awful creation that seemingly nobody likes. So, yeah, hard to get excited about another Cadillac concept with no future. Plus, it’s electric and there’d be nothing exciting about another electric car.
Reminds me of the Cadillacs of the 50s and 60s, plus the Allante. I’ve been a stalwart GM fan since my Dafd bought his first car; a 1939 Chevy Coupé, followed by many more GM cars, trucks and station wagons.
Same for me, I have a picture of my grandfather with his first new car, a 1926 Chevy.
Put a gas engine in it and sign me up.
Bla Bla Bla…… Might as well do concepts of time travel machines!!!!!!! This thing will NEVER happen GM is a joke…..
