As the broader automotive industry turns its attention to all-electric powertrains, even hardcore performance brands like Ferrari feel the pressure to join in. As such, Ferrari is now expected to debut its first all-electric vehicle sometime during the 2025 calendar year. When it goes on sale, the new Ferrari EV could serve as a rival for the upcoming Chevy Corvette EV SUV.
In a recent interview with AutoCar, Ferrari boss Benedetto Vigna provided some insight into the company’s electrification plans. According to Vigna, the new battery-powered Ferrari will debut next year, with sales expected to kick off in 2026. While details are obviously still under wraps, early prototypes indicate that the all-electric Ferrari will debut with a crossover body style. Spy photos show what’s believed to be early Ferrari EV prototypes wearing modified Maserati Levante body components, although it’s still too early to determine exactly what shape the new Ferrari EV will take.
Either way, if this is indeed the case, it could rival the upcoming Chevy Corvette EV SUV. Rumors of an all-electric Corvette have been swirling for years now, with a new utility model high on the list of possibilities. That said, if GM does opt to give the Corvette EV SUV the green light, it’s a safe bet the Corvette EV will be far more affordable than the Ferrari EV, with recent reports suggesting that the all-electric Ferrari could arrive with a price tag around $500,000.
This won’t be the first crossover to come from Ferrari, with the Italian automaker also offering up the Purosangue last year. Notably, Ferrari previously used Maserati Levante body components while testing prototypes of the Purosangue prior to the model’s release. It’s also worth mentioning that Ferrari has been dabbling with electrification since 2013 with the release of the LaFerrari, but has yet to release a fully electric model.

Give us the goods, gm! Just please don’t confuse our halo car Corvette with a Camaro EV SUV a la Mustang Mach-e. And I’m still 100% behind a 2025 or 2026 Chevelle EV & Gas (or LZ0 3.0L I-6 DMax). Throw in a 2.7T Hybrid option on 1500 Tahoe/Sub/Yukon/Escalade and all bases are covered.
I hope by showing the Purosangue they aren’t implying that the Corvette will be an SUV. Don’t you have enough SUVs GM?
A Vette EV should have been brought up instead of the Lyriq in the Macan article.
Who else but GM can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
Yes We Can! (but I hope we don’t!)

How can that compete with ANY Corvette with a half a million dollar price tag. Stupid article. No corvette will ever be produced as a SUV LET alone any where near that price point. Corvette must stay as a two seat sports car otherwise call it something else. Keep the corvette name and design sacred as a sports CAR.
