Dual-Level Charge Cord Now Optional On 2025 Chevy EVs

With the future of General Motors’ all-electric lineup currently in the balance, the Detroit-based automaker has elected to reintroduce plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) to the North American market in order to meet rising fuel economy and emissions standards. That being said, the dual-level charge cord feature appears to be now offered as a standalone option on upcoming Chevy electric vehicles.
Previously available as standard equipment on the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, 2024 Equinox EV, and 2024 Silverado EV, the dual-level charge cord (RPO code PSC) feature is now a standalone option. Pricing comes in at $350 on all trim levels of the 2025 Blazer EV, 2025 Equinox EV, and 2025 Silverado EV.
It’s worth noting that the portable cord has a capacity of 1.4 kW (120 volts) and 7.7 kW (240 volts), using swappable NEMA 5-15 and NEMA 14-50 plugs with an SAE J1772 vehicle connection.
In other Chevrolet EV-related developments, GM Authority recently reported that the 2025 Blazer EV will not be equipped with the North American Charging System (NACS) connector. Initially developed by rival Tesla and utilized to gain access to the Tesla Supercharger Network, General Motors indicated that its upcoming all-electric models will adopt the NACS connector in 2025. However, this was in reference to the 2025 calendar year, not the 2025 model year.
It’s worth noting that this stipulation applies to all General Motors EVs built for the 2025 model year.
Of course, this is quite a notable development, as Tesla has promised to grant GM electric vehicles access to its Supercharger Network. Currently, there’s no specific timeframe, but current General Motors EVs will be available with an adapter to use the charging stations.
As a reminder, all current Chevrolet EVs—and General Motors, for that matter—utilize GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technology for propulsion. Under the skin lies one of two architectures: the GM BEV3 platform for the Blazer EV and Equinox EV or the GM BT1 platform for the Silverado EV.

Now, how about paying for buyers’ homes electrical upgrades? Yeah, fat chance, I know.
To avoid panel upgrades check out the Emporia EV Charger with PowerSmart. It will lower the amps to the charger is something else needs a lot of power.
“but current General Motors EVs will be available with an adapter to use the (Tesla) charging stations.”
Really? I would like to get one for my 2023 Bolt EUV.
how many times are you guys going to tell people 2025MY vehicles wont have NACS? This was already known- they said 2025 was when conversion would begin and this is still 2024. THis is not new information.
GM. NOT COOL to remove something that is standard equipment, then force us to pay extra for it for the next Model Year.
Not the way to help EV adoption!
That charger is helpful when you first bring home your car and until you get a Level 2 charger. I have used the the charger when visiting friends for a weekend. At least I can add some range.
