Chevy Silverado EV Lease Available In July 2024

In July 2024, a Chevy Silverado EV lease is available in local markets on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition. No other incentives are offered on the all-electric full-size pickup truck.

Notably, the Silverado EV RST First Edition does not qualify for the $7,500 U.S. EV tax credit because the MSRP for this particular trim level exceeds the $80,000 maximum set by the Clean Vehicle Credit rules.

About Chevrolet Silverado EV

The first-ever 2024 Chevy Silverado EV officially debuted at CES 2022, arriving in the well-equipped RST First Edition and fleet-focused WT trim levels. The 2024 Silverado EV 3WT gets a new fleet package with an even higher tow capacity.

The all-electric Silverado was engineered from the ground up to be exclusively an electric vehicle. Rather than utilizing the automaker’s T1 truck platform, the all-new pickup truck leverages the available 24-module Ultium Battery pack as a fundamental part of the vehicle’s structure. The Chevy Silverado EV rides on a variant of the GM BT1 platform that underpins the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, powered by Ultium Batteries and Ultium Drive motors. Among many other firsts for GM full-size pickups, the BT1 platform also utilizes an independent front and rear suspension system.

The RST trim level arrives with a long feature list, debuting as the RST First Edition. A Trail Boss trim will launch as a 2025 model. Other trims, such as a new Custom trim level that GM Authority was first to report about, as well as a High Country trim, are expected to join the lineup in the near future.

The RST First Edition features GM’s Adaptive Air Ride suspension as standard and four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability, like that of the Hummer EV Pickup.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT and 4WT deliver an estimated 393 miles and 450 miles of range from a full charge, respectively. The 2024 Silverado EV 4WT delivers true pickup truck capabilities with a maximum tow rating of 10,000 pounds and a maximum payload rating of 1,400 pounds.

Since then, the Silverado EV RST has achieved a 460-mile range in real-world testing.

Naturally, the Chevy Silverado EV will draw comparisons to the ICE-based Chevy Silverado 1500. Check out our exterior and interior dimensional comparison for both models.

In early March, dealers began taking orders for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition, with production now underway. It has a lower price and higher range estimate, increasing from 400 miles to 440 miles.

The online configurator tool for the 2024 Silverado EV is now live.

Production of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV is scheduled to start on September 3rd. This month, GM released the first images of the upcoming Silverado EV LT trim level for 2025.

  1. All-in, that’s about $2.00 a mile for 10,000 miles.
Remind me again what problem does an EV pick-up solve?

    1. It doesn’t rely on dinosaur juice and can power your whole house for days/weeks during an outage. Massively reduces vehicle maintenance, and much lower running costs.

If you’re looking for a cheap EV truck they were doing Rivian R1T’s for ~$600p/m a couple of months back. These are brand new and GM are scalping early adopters, just like dealers did with C8’s and Broncos.

    2. Okay Carl. I know the aversion to numbers on this site but let’s pretend it is your money we are talking about.
One thing mentioned was the 1wt trim for under $40,000 minus destination charge.

That’s a steal for an electric 3/4 ton truck.
I don’t know what GM is going to price the biggest battery option at but let us say $50,000.

440 miles on a 200 kwh battery is 2.2 miles per kwh stored in the battery. Let’s further say trickle charging it overnight wastes 10% of juice, making it effectively 2 miles per kilowatt hour.

Let’s further assume we have not taken advantage of any time-of-day discounts most utilities offer, and we are further not using the considerably cheaper commercial rate electricity a business would use, but we are using the 24/7/365 expensive $0.16 per kwh at home.

That works out to a marginal increase of 8 cents per mile, or a fueling cost of $800 per 10,000 miles.

A 20 mpg truck would use 500 gallons of fuel, plus plenty of routine maintenance. Gas here is about $3.70 a gallon, but let’s assume it is a dirt cheap $3 per gallon by you. Namely, $1,500.

That’s a savings. And I bent over backwards using numbers tending to favor the ice.

  2. Man I really like the looks of this RST truck…but $97k!!!!! Come on man. Offer ot for $60k and watch it fly off the showroom floors!

  3. As a correction, the Silverado EV does qualify for the Fed rebate if you lease. The problem is GM Finance is pocketing that $7500 right now and not passing it back to the customer. However for the Hummer EV they are passing the rebate to the customer, and they will do with the Silverado EV by Autumn I’d bet.

I test drove one a couple of days ago. Extremely impressive vehicle, infinitely more composed than the F150 Lightning and much better build quality than the Rivian, but I’m not paying $61k for a 3 year lease. I’ll wait for the incentives, or the Hummer EV update when it has 240v power output.

    1. Not if the vehicle is over the 80k price cap. Also would like to see where the data is that shows the truck could power a house for days or weeks that you claim in an earlier post. And why is it no one wants to really talk about the actual mileage with towing. All the talk is max this, max that. Who care if it can tow 10,000 lbs when you can only drive 100 miles. And then spend hours at a charge station , if it even works.

  4. Man that 1WT is attractive for just over $40 K.

2 WD? I thought they said the weren’t going to do that

If I bought one it would be a 2wd model but have heard nothing about it.

  5. Two questions.
    1. Do the front seats need to remain forward after the rear seats are folded down?
    2. Does the rear window require two people to remove?
