About Chevrolet Equinox EV
The first-ever 2024 Chevy Equinox EV debuted this past September. The new all-electric crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform, featuring as standard a single Ultium Drive electric motor powering the front wheels. This is rated at 213 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. An optional AWD system is also available, rated at 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.
Launch trim levels include 2LT and 3LT, along with the sporty 2RS and 3RS, plus a 2RS Launch Edition, which is currently sold out. There will be no 2024 Equinox EV 1LT trim level.
The Equinox comes standard with manual-adjusted front seats, an 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen, an 11-inch driver information display, and 19-inch wheels. The upgraded infotainment screen measures in at an impressive 17.7 inches and is available on the 2LT and standard on the 3LT and two RS trims. Cosmetic options include available 20- and 21-inch wheels, a front LED light bar for 2LT and up models, a two-tone white roof for LT models, and a two-tone black roof for RS models.
The Chevy Safety Assist suite of active safety features comes standard across the board.
Notably, GM’s semi-autonomous Super Cruise driver assist system is available on most trim levels of the all-new 2024 Equinox EV, yet the all-new model does not offer the option of a wireless phone charger on any trim.
GM confirmed the driving range for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV AWD, which will offer an EPA-estimated 285 miles of range per charge, while the Equinox EV FWD will offer 319 miles of range. The all-electric compact crossover recently received revised horsepower and torque ratings following published efficiency ratings and towing capacities.
Pricing for the 2024 Equinox EV starts at $43K for the 2LT FWD trim and ranges up to $52K for the 2RS Launch Edition AWD. Applying the Clean Vehicle Federal Tax Credit of up to $7,500 knocks the final price of the Equinox EV 2LT FWD down to under $36K.

For the time being anyway.
FWD EV’s are just wrong. Why did they think this was a good thing. My bet is this was a cost reduction thing. Other than that GM has a reputation issue to deal with after the Bolt recall and this being a new pack with the same battery maker LG which has had the most battery fires as far as I know. Why not go with a new LFP chem, much safer.
Started seeing them and the blazer EV on the roads around here. Checked out the NoxEV at the local Chevy dealer. Looks really good.
Didn’t have time for a test drive, but probably will at some point. But I think the Optiq with AWD and 300 miles range is probably what I would go for.
Only issue is lack of CarPlay.
Do you know what is the route planning like? This piece of crucial software tells you where to charge, how much and about how long to charge when going on a trip. Also do they have the Tesla CCS adapters so you can use Tesla Super chargers. Speed of charging for everything but the Silverado is non way behind.
Route planning is via integrated google maps and will route to chargers along the route if needed. I’ve seen some YouTube videos about it, and reviewers are generally happy with it.
Access and adapter rollout for GM vehicles has been delayed due to Tesla shenanigans with Elon firing the entire supercharger team, and then rehiring some of them. But supposed to happen soon.
It wouldn’t be so difficult to rollout if Tesla just had normal pay terminals. You know, like every single gas station in the country that has been proven tech for decades.
You mean all the other super chargers that do not work and are constantly busted? Yeah you have choice now but you will find out why people are so desperate to use the Tesla network. Those chargers work. The magic with Tesla route planning is it picks the best chargers, preconditions the battery, checks for how busy they are so everything is optimal. Its not just a google map. Why the charging speeds from 2020 is another thing that makes me wonder about GM’s thought process. Ahh well, I do want to test drive one before I talk about it more. Maybe its great.
No, I mean with the Tesla SC network. Plus, I’ve definitely seen reports of challenges with people having issues getting a charge to start at a Tesla station with non-tesla EVs. Who’d a thought that when Tesla opened it up to hardware and software systems from other EVs it would not have the same reliability and show the similar struggles the existing open networks have? Oh yeah, me.
But mostly “super charging” should be a non-issue, for most people. I’ve used DCFC I think 3 times now in 8 years of owning and driving an EV.
And a lot of those are still V2 that cap out at 150kw or PowerShare between two cars anyway so mostly you aren’t hitting those advertised high speeds. Plus Tesla doesn’t stay at their peaks very long.
Pre-conditioning is not just a tesla thing.
