Chevy Corvette Red Flame Series Exclusively Coming To Japan: Photos

The eighth-generation C8 is the first-ever Corvette to be offered in right-hand-drive straight from the factory. As such, overseas fans in certain export markets now have a greater opportunity to actually own one of these machines. That includes the Japanese market, where GM has already released a series of unique special edition models. Now, The General is sending Japanese buyers another special edition with this – the Chevy Corvette Red Flame Series.

The Chevy Corvette Red Flame Series is exclusive to the Japanese market. Per GM Japan, the Red Flame Series “expresses the passionate spirit of American sports cars,” and is on sale now as of July 4th, 2024.

Features for the Chevy Corvette Red Flame Series include an Edge Red engine cover, with a special Engine Appearance Package that highlights the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 engine. Coupe models incorporate a carbon fiber decorative panel, while Convertibles incorporate a clear window engine bay panel.

Exterior colors on offer include Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat matched with black racing stripes, as well as Carbon Flash Metallic, the latter of which is a first for the Japanese market. The interior colorway options include Natural Dipped upholstery for cars painted in red, and Adrenaline Red Dipped upholstery for cars painted in black. Customers can also opt for the Stealth Interior Trim Package, which adds in a number of black aluminum components.

The Chevy Corvette Red Flame Series is available in both a Coupe and Convertible body style, with 10 units for each of the four configurations (Coupe / Convertible and Red Mist Metallic / Carbon Flash Metallic), making for a total of 40 units. Pricing is set at 17,400,000 yen (or $108,185 at current exchange rates, 7/5/2024) for the Coupe and 18,900,000 yen (or $117,511 at current exchange rates) for the Convertible. Deliveries will kick off in September.

As a reminder, the C8 Corvette rides on the GM Y2 platform and is produced at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. Sounds like nice combo’s but why would GM care what interior goes with either exterior.

  2. What’s with the red interior? How about having more bright colors exterior? This is all well and good but another issue GM cannot produce the C8, Z06 or ZR1 for customers. I waited years until I quit the waiting list. Dealers were only earning their interest on my deposit.
