Chevy Blazer EV Conquest Rate Running At 40 Percent

The Chevy Blazer EV seems to be a success at attracting new vehicle buyers to General Motors, with the latest information from the automaker showing the EV crossover as generating a high percentage of conquest sales. “Conquest” is an industry term for sales to buyers who have come over from a rival brand. In other words, many Blazer EV buyers are first-time GM customers.

The conquest rate of the Chevy Blazer EV is currently running at 40 percent, with two-fifths of buyers purchasing the crossover as their first-ever GM vehicle.

According to the data, the Blazer EV is winning over sales from rival brands Jeep, Ford, Hyundai, and Kia. The vehicle was last in its segment in Q1 2024 with just 600 deliveries, coming to an approximate two percent market share of the quarter’s overall mainstream midsize EV crossover sales.

However, as the chart below shows, GM delivered 6.634 units of the Chevy Blazer EV in Q2 2024, for a cumulative total of 7,234 so far in 2024:

Production of the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV is currently underway, with the first units rolling off the assembly line on June 3rd, 2024, following the wrap-up of 2024 Blazer EV production on  June 2nd. Pricing for the 2025 model year, as previously uncovered by GM Authority, is set at $48,995 for the AWD configuration of the LT trim and $54,295 for the AWD RS trim.

These starting MSRPs include a destination freight charge of $1,395. Pricing for the front-wheel drive configuration of the LT and RS trims, the rear-wheel drive RS trim, and the AWD 2025 Chevy Blazer EV SS is not yet available. MSRPs will become available once the remaining configurations and trims are on offer.

Among other model year changes, the 2LT trim level has been redesignated as the 4LT, though it will continue to be sold to consumers simply as the LT. The 4LT will get cloth seats and a reshuffling of some options packages. Additionally, one of the available options for the LT will be the Midnight / Sport Edition package (RPO code WJU) for the new model year, available exclusively on the eAWD configuration.

The 2025 Blazer EV will also lose one exterior paint option, the Red Hot (color code G7C) paint color, with no immediately known indirect replacement. This will reduce the palette for the model year to seven colors.

As a reminder, the Chevy Blazer EV is underpinned by the GM BEV3 platform, with motivation supplied by the GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies. Production of the 2025 model year will take place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

  2. So, according to the article, Chevy has a FWD, a RWD ,and an AWD. Can tha be accurate?

    1. Yes. EV architecture is..different. Motor set up has more flexibility than a standard ICE engine. I can’t imagine getting fwd though, as awd has its advantages without its drawbacks.

  3. So a 40% conquest rate of 6634 sold the 2nd quarter. Nice looking, but over priced and the botched rollout hurt it. BTW, you do know a minor accident may well cause your insurance company (higher rates on EV), to total it rather than repair. Depreciate very fast with little trade-in or resale value……..

    1. Yep the introduction of the Blazer EV has been hair pulling and teeth gnashing, incredibly terrible. GM has to carefully manage their EVs, especially post sales and develop positive customer experience with long term services such as battery maintenance and replacement.

    2. Davy: That is just false for most EV’s. When I got my 2023 Bolt EV and sold my 2021 Chevy Malibu, my insurance didn’t change one bit.

      When you have people going from 250 HP vehicles to 500 to 1100 HP vehicles, sure it will change the insurance.

  6. Our lease was up on our 2021 Bolt.
    We leased two AWD 2LT’s. No money down @ $400 US for 24 months.
    Having driven the Bolt for three years, I feel that the eBlazer is more than a worthy successor.
    In my opinion leasing is the way to go. In two years the newest Bolt should be available and vetted. We may go back to that platform depending on how the design and performance comes together.
    In the meantime, The Blazer is an excellent ride. It has plenty of power and low road noise.
    No regrets in leasing these.

  7. No CarPlay is a deal breaker for me. I’m not going to put up with a collection of dongles and adapters plugged into a line-in jack or whatever. My current EV is a 2017 Bolt and CarPlay / Android Auto works well, though it is USB wired.

    The Blazer EV looks good and must be pretty roomy, judging from the fact the Bolt is already roomy for a fairly small car. I’ve been surprised at the decent build quality and reliability in the Bolt versus GM’s sketchy reputation. If GM has fixed the Blazer software bugs, the Blazer would be a win … other than CarPlay being missing.

    1. The thought that GM can compete with Apple & Google for the functionality of our phones is ridiculous. I want my all-day phone capability and configuration to go with me to the car via CarPlay (and alternately Android Auto). I don’t want my car to be a separate unfriendly device from a second-class software developer. I live with my phone, I don’t live in my car.

  9. The nothing down give away lease to move these anchors off the lot is working somewhat……lets see what the numbers are when they aren’t almost paying people to buy them.
