‘Carbonray’ Supercharged C2 Corvette Restomod For Sale In Nevada: Video

Way back in the ’50s, the C1 Chevy Corvette became the first mass-produced automobile to incorporate a fiberglass body, drastically cutting down on weight compared to the more-commonplace steel bodies. Of course, these days, carbon fiber is the go-to material when it comes to cutting down on heft. No surprise then that this 1963 Chevy Corvette is decked out with a long list of carbon fiber parts, and now, it’s up for sale.

The custom C2 Corvette is dubbed the “Carbonray,” and in addition to the lightweight carbon bits, it also features a modern supercharged engine. The car is highlighted in a new four-minute, 23-second video from Nostalgia Hot Rods, and covers all the basics.

Let’s start with the carbon stuff. True to the name, the Carbonray C2 Vette is equipped with carbon fiber for the roof, headliner, seats, dash, mirrors, engine bay, and exterior. The car also features a single-blade carbon fiber bumper, enhancing its aesthetic lines.

We find this C2 Corvette is also motivated by a modern engine, as indicated by the Magnuson supercharger seen poking through the hood. The power-spec is comprised of an LS2 V8 engine paired with a 3.0L roots-style blower, with output routed to the rear wheels through a TCI 6X automatic six-speed transmission with paddle shift capabilities.

To complement the extra output, the C2 Corvette Carbonray rides on an NHR chassis and RideTech air suspension technology, ensuring an aggressive stance when aired out. Speaking of the stance, the car is fitted with custom 19-inch and 20-inch Budnik wheels and Wilwood disc brakes, including six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear, all with cross-drilled and slotted 14-inch rotors.

The body of Carbonray showcases over a thousand hours of work, creating seamless body lines and flush-mount glass, with the black paint melting in alongside the carbon fiber details. The custom interior features carbon fiber door handles, Sparco carbon race seats, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air, and Rockford Fosgate stereo equipment.

Now, this custom carbon fiber C2 Corvette is up for sale in Henderson, Nevada. No price is listed, with interested customers encouraged to contact Nostalgia Hot Rods directly for more information.
