If it’s a three-row crossover that you’re after, then GM has several options to choose from, including the Cadillac XT6, the Chevy Traverse, the GMC Acadia, and the Buick Enclave. Notably, all four of these crossovers ride on the GM C1 platform, but critically, the dimensions aren’t quite identical. Now, GM Authority is digging into the spec sheets with the following Dimensional Comparison, placing these four crossovers side-by-side to measure out the exterior and interior differences.
Exterior Dimensions
The Cadillac XT6, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave all share some similarities when it comes to exterior dimensions, but also a few notable differences. The Cadillac XT6 is the smallest of the four, measuring in with a 112.7-inch wheelbase, significantly shorter than the 120.9-inch wheelbase for the Traverse, Acadia, and Enclave. In terms of overall length, the XT6 is 198.5 inches, while the Traverse ranges from 204.5 to 204.7 inches, the Acadia is at 204 inches, and the Enclave tops out at 207.6 inches.
When it comes to width, the XT6 is the narrowest at 77.3 inches compared to the Traverse and Acadia, both of which span from 79.6 to 80 inches, and the Enclave at 79.6 inches. Height varies slightly with the XT6 standing at 69.9 inches, the Traverse between 69.6 to 72.05 inches, the Acadia from 71 to 72 inches, and the Enclave at 71 inches. Ground clearance is also a bit different across models, with the XT6 at 6.65 inches, and the others ranging from 6.8 to 7.75 inches.

Wonder how long before a multi-million $ law suit against GM for their tablet infotainment screens being a distraction in a fatal accident?
So you are actually directing that at EVERY MANUFACTURER as they all have tablet size screens. Got it tin foil hat guy!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the interior photo of the Buick Enclave attached to this story is not the new 2025 model coming out. It appears to be the outgoing interior.
Has production started on the 2025 Buick Enclaves yet? It was originally scheduled to begin in June. I still have not seen interior photos of the dark colored Avenir trim interior. Only the light interior has been shown, which is beautiful, but impractical to keep clean with kids involved in sporting activities that often track in dirt and muck to our cars.
You took the words right out of my mouth, I couldn’t even get a picture of the black interior when I ordered my 2025 Buick Enclave Avenir, ordered it sight unseen.
We were going to buy a GMC Acadia Denali with the black interior until we seen it had a white stitched checker board seating on the black seat, looks stupid if you ask me, GM better get their act together.
How were you able to order the 2025 Buick Enclave if the car configurator on Buick’s website isn’t avalable yet?
I don’t understand why GM doesn’t have maybe four interior colors to pick from? Black, Off White, Tan, and Grey maybe. I also wanted the Acadia Denali until I saw the interior colors. I am hoping that the Buick Enclave Avenir will have a more lighter tan color.
Poor Enclave looks cheap inside w/Acadia taking the premium approach. Chevy, and especially GMC, Buick built the same CUV with same doors and wind shield.
C1 is a excellent platform originating w/Opel. GM wastes money. VFF was never needed and neither was Omega. Ultium 1 will soon be obsolete with Ultium 2 already designed. This is why GM has so much debt. Too many engines, too, except a game changer like Mazda has developed.
Again, this is great information in all, but we are now less than a week away from the original production start date and there STILL isn’t any news on when it is going to start. It is starting to get king of annoying.
Too bad the XT6 i is going at least another 2 years being untouched. I have a Traverse now and would love to upgrade to the Cadillac, but the new Traverse and Acadia interiors won’t let me
Will there be an XT6 replacement / G3? Why wouldn’t Cadillac get an update unless GM was planning to delete in EV push?
Mom went from an Enclave to an XT5. Had buyers remorse the next day. A year layer she tells me I can have it — no way, not even for free. I make her trade it in for a 2019 XT6. Wow do I feel like a bad son. I was under the impression the XT6 was the same size as the Traverse, Acadia, Enclave etc. I didn’t realize how much bigger the Buick is. Well maybe ill just have her get a Colorado as she uses her XT6 as a “farm truck”…
Not worth the 50k + price tag with a 4cyl turbo
But if it had a NA 3.6 with less HP and way less torque it would be?
The Buicks traditionally don’t have the fancy electronic gadgets. My elderly mother can’t figure that crap out. My father’s X7 is way over his head as far as using any of the German gadgetry — they really LOVE button and switches everywhere. Next time I fly into town I’m going to look at the new Enclaves…
I think production of the 2025 Buick Enclave has finally started! I saw a video on a 2025 Buick Enclave Prefered that had just been delivered. If you search the YouTube channel Caleb Redd, you should be able to see it.
