Cadillac is stepping up its infotainment game with a swath of new features, including enhanced infotainment via Google built-in. Some of the highlights of the new Google-based system include Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. Now, Cadillac is providing a walkthrough of the Google built-in infotainment system with the following brief instructional video.
The video is a little over three minutes long, and provides insight into some of the functionality of the Google built-in system and instructions on how to use it.
As the video highlights, Cadillac’s Google built-in system enhances the connected driving experience via an array of Google apps and services, all of which are available directly through the vehicle’s center display. Setting up the infotainment system involves accepting Google as the default operating system and purchasing a Cadillac Connected Services Plan, which provides things like real-time data, downloadable apps, and regular updates. Users can also log in using their Google account for a more personalized experience, although a Google account is not required to use some of the features.
Among the features on offer are Google Maps, which provides navigation with real-time traffic information, points of interest, and EV charging station locations. There’s also Google Assistant, which enables hands-free commands for navigation, making calls, playing music, and adjusting climate settings. To activate Google Assistant, the user simply has to say “Hey Google,” press the push-to-talk button on the steering wheel, or tap the Google Assistant icon on the center console.
Additional apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, such as YouTube Music. Installing new apps is easy – simply browse the Play Store on the center console to view what’s available, then make your selection and tap “Install.”

I get this on Android Auto at no charge.
I have been a life long GM customer, but I will never buy another GM product if it has anything to do with Google!
I have a new 2024 Corvette..traded in a 2019 Vette…Had I experienced prior to purchasing..I would of kept my 2019 Vette.
GM!!! YOUR GOOGLE RADIO SUXXXXXXX! i’LL be damn if I will spend $25…a month.. to basically have a simple radio and info system I have to pay forON A $100K YET!!…at the very least..IT should be free!…when I took delivery of my 24 Vette..the dealership Tech..even told me it was the worst system ever…he took 3 separate classes to understand the Google system…and still has issues when he tries to teach others how to operate it.
I also own a new GM and agree with JLd . The google is a pain in the a##.Maybe the Chinese are happy with google ?
I experienced the same shock when I found out I needed a Google Account and an OnStar plan to use the GPS in my 2023 Silverado High Country.
My 2014 Corvette and My 2018 GMC Denali and my wife’s 2018 XT5 all have navigation and I don’t have to share any information with Google and the Chinese Communist Party.
This crap is never mentioned in the GM Build and price website, it is not called out on the Window Sticker, and no one at 3 different Chevrolet dealers that I visited told me about it either. Borderline Criminal activity.
This is a BS decision by GM, and if it doesn’t change, my next car/truck will not come from GM.
You don’t need a Google account to use your nav system in your 23 Silverado. Don’t pay for a data plan, and use wireless android auto or wireless carplay….problem solved
You may or may not own a GM Vehicle, but I am guessing you are not. And yes I could use Apple car Play or Android Auto to mirror the phone Navigation system on my 2023 Chevy Silverado display screen.
That is not the point. If you would like to you could re-read my post to understand the problems and the dissatisfaction of many duped GM Customers.
The Google OS is the worst!! part of my ’24 2500 High Country pickup. It downgrades the entire vehicle.
Why is that,just interested.
