General Motors is on the verge of launching its Ultium-based electric vehicle offensive in South America and is preparing to unveil the all-new Chevy Blazer EV this week in Brazil.
The automaker’s Brazilian subsidiary will officially introduce the all-new Chevy Blazer EV this week in the South American country, which will become the first nation in the region to launch electric vehicles based on GM’s Ultium architecture. Sources familiar with the matter told GM Authority that the Blazer EV will be introduced imminently as the spearhead of Chevrolet’s new EV strategy in the Brazilian market.
In particular, the official presentation event of the all-new Chevy Blazer EV in Brazil is scheduled for next Thursday, August 1st, when the specific configuration of the electric crossover for the country will be revealed to the press and the general public. The presentation will take place a month and a half after the arrival of the first Blazer EV units on Brazilian shores, imported from the manufacturer’s GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
Meanwhile, GM Brazil continues its marketing push by sharing details about the Chevy Blazer EV’s highlights. The subsidiary highlighted that the Blazer EV will open a new chapter of connectivity in the local Chevrolet vehicle portfolio by introducing Google built-in as standard. The infotainment interface allows the user to access a variety of applications and functions without using smartphone projection.
“The fact that more modern cars have their own internet and more advanced electronic architecture allows for systems that offer a more complete and personalized connectivity experience for the consumer,” said Director of Electrical Engineering at GM South America, Plinio Cabral.
The all-new Chevy Blazer EV will be officially introduced this week in Brazil and will lead the company’s new zero-emissions vehicle offensive in the largest country in South America, where in the coming months it will begin the celebration of 100 years of operations with important product and technological innovations. As we reported before, the Blazer EV will reach the Brazilian market in a single configuration corresponding to the RS trim level.
