2025 Porsche Panamera Adds Performance Variants Rivaling Cadillac CT5 V-Series Models

Porsche has introduced two new variants to the Panamera lineup with the debut of the 2025 model year, including the new 2025 Panamera GTS and the new 2025 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. In terms of performance, the new Panamera GTS rivals the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, while the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid offers even more performance at an equally elevated price point. Orders for both the Panamera GTS and the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid are open now, with the first units hitting dealers late in the first quarter of the 2025 calendar year.

Let’s start with a brief rundown on the new 2025 Porsche Panamera GTS. The German automaker says the new GTS pairs “a high degree of everyday usability” with “an additional dose of sportiness and maximum driving pleasure.” To that end, the 2025 Porsche Panamera GTS is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine producing 493 horsepower, enabling it to run from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 188 mph.

To complement the boosted V8, the GTS features standard dual-chamber two-valve air suspension, reinforced anti-roll bars, and a 10 mm-lower ride height compared to the standard Panamera. The exterior incorporates black logos, a unique front fascia, HD Matrix Design LED headlights, and red brake calipers, while the cabin includes extensive application of the suede-like Race-Tex material. Standard features include a Bose sound system and the Sport Chrono package.

Pricing for the new 2025 Porsche Panamera GTS starts at $154,200, making the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing a far better value ($93,495) by comparison, at least in terms of horsepower-per-dollars.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is offered as the most powerful Panamera model yet, combining a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine and electric motor for a total output of 771 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. The new Turbo S E-Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 202 mph.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid also features a 25.9 kWh battery, plus Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), a distinctive exterior design with exclusive Turbonite accents, and a well-appointed interior bathed in high-end materials. Notably, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has also set a new record at the Nürburgring as the fastest executive class sedan to loop the Nordschleife.

  • If Cadillac ever decides to offer an AWD option for the CT5-V Blackwing, I would be Jumping in line.

Otherwise, they've retained the same formula they launched in 2009, which means no reason for me to upgrade.
