2025 GMC Sierra HD Gets Revised Production Start Dates

The 2025 GMC Sierra HD rolls out with a few incremental changes compared to the refreshed 2024 model year. As GM Authority covered previously, the 2025 Sierra HD was originally anticipated to start production at the end of July. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the production dates for the 2025 Sierra HD have been revised, and that the heavy-duty pickup will in fact not begin production until August.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2025 Sierra HD will start being built on August 5th, whereas previously, the first units of the heavy-duty truck were expected to roll out on July 29th. The first units will be limited to the Double Cab body configuration.
In addition, the production start date for the 2025 Sierra HD Crew Cab has been moved forward. Previously, Crew Cab units of the 2025 Sierra HD were expected to begin production on August 19th, but now, production of Crew Cab units has been moved forward to August 12th.
Finally, Regular Cab units of the 2025 GMC Sierra HD will begin production on August 19th, as was expected previously.
All 2025 GMC Sierra HD variants will be produced at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.
GM Authority recently uncovered in-depth pricing information on the 2025 GMC Sierra HD, which starts at $48,295 for 2500 HD configurations and $49,495 for 3500 HD configurations. Note that these prices include the destination freight charge, which is set at $1,995. It’s also worth mentioning that most trim levels are several hundred dollars more expensive than equivalent 2024 model-year vehicles, with the exception of the Denali and Denali Ultimate, both of which are slightly less expensive for the 2025 model year. As a reminder, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD offers two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, as well as the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine. All 2025 GMC Sierra HD models ride on the GM T1 platform.
