Following the launch of the crossover’s all-new second generation in the 2024 model year, the changes and updates introduced by the 2025 Chevy Trax include the addition of two paint colors to the available lineup, specifically Cypress Gray and Marina Blue Metallic. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the Marina Blue color.
Marina Blue Metallic is tagged with color code GKN and touch-up paint number WA-253K. It joins seven other 2025 Chevy Trax exterior colors to give buyers the following eight paint options for the model year (color codes in parenthesis):
- Cacti Green (GVR)
- Crimson Metallic (GFM)
- Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (GCP)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Cypress Gray (GBD – new for 2025)
- Marina Blue Metallic (GKN – new for 2025)
Marina Blue Metallic is an extra-charge color choice priced at $395. It is available on all trim levels of the 2025 Trax, including the base LS trim, the LT, 1RS, and 2RS trims, and the range-topping Activ trim. It can also be selected in conjunction with any of the crossover’s interior colorways.
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Trax has a total of six interior colorways on offer, including:
- Jet Black / Gray with Blue accents
- Jet Black / Gray with Red accents
- Jet Black with Blue accents
- Jet Black with Yellow accents
- Jet Black with Red accents
- Jet Black with Artemis accents
Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Trax was previously uncovered by GM Authority and starts at $21,495 for the entry-level 1LS trim level. Even the most expensive trims, the 2RS and Activ, are priced affordably, with a starting MSRP of $25,395. The listed prices include a $1,095 destination freight charge. Potential buyers can use the official configurator to explore the crossover’s options.
The 2025 Trax cradles a new powerplant under the hood: the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP gasoline engine. Like the previous year’s turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, this engine cranks out 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque but can also utilize E85 fuel. Cog swaps are handled by the GM six-speed automatic transmission as standard, and the only drivetrain configuration is front-wheel drive.
The 2025 Chevy Trax is underpinned by the GM VSS-F vehicle set. The North American variant of the Trax is built only at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea.

This color looks fantastic on the car. I sawr one in person yesterday at the local dealership, an Activ. It closely matches my parents’ ’66 Chevelle SS396 with the same color name, and for that, I am grateful to gm for honoring the tiniest bit of their unmatched history. IF ONLY they would brush up on their own past more often, they’d learn so much.
Great…when are you taking delivery of one?
? Silly question, I already have a ’24 Trax Activ in Cacti Green, why would I trade after 8 months and 12.5k miles?
how would one know that from your first statement? If your looking, one can only assume your looking to buy.
I hope this looks better than the hideous screaming blue mattes of the recent past, like Fountain Blue. Because it’s a metallic, I’m a bit hopeful.
Don’t be such a Debbie Downer, SC Beachbum.
It looks better on the actual website pages than here.
Much better than the weird loud Fountain blue previously offered.
This is a nice color that’s a nice change from the cookie cutter black, white, and grays you see on just about every crossover on the road. I would also like to see a green similar to one the Equinox offered a few years ago and also a burnt orange.
YES, the Ivy Green on the Equinox was a nice color! It closely matched my first car, Verdant Green Poly Pontiac Catalina.
Safety test has not yet been done for the new model 2024. right?
