2025 Chevy Silverado HD Gets Revised Production Start Dates

The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD follows up on the refreshed 2024 model year with a few important updates and changes, including the launch of the new 2025 Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss package. The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD was originally slated to start production on July 29th, 2024. However, GM Authority has now learned that the 2025 Silverado HD production dates have been revised.

Production dates for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD have been revised.

According to GM Authority sources, the first units of the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD will now roll off the line on August 5th, 2024, one week after the original July 29th date. The first models produced will be examples of the Double Cab body configuration. Following the launch of production of Double Cab models, 2025 Chevy Silverado HD Crew Cab models will begin production on August 12th, whereas previously, Crew Cab models were expected to start production on August 19th. Finally, Regular Cab models are slated for production on August 19th, the same date as was expected previously.

One of the most significant updates for the 2025 model year is the launch of the Chevy Silverado HD Trail Boss package, which adds a variety of off-roader equipment to the heavy-duty pickup, thus completing the Chevy brand’s Trail Boss lineup.

Under the hood, the 2025 Silverado HD offers two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T, included as standard and rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, offered as optional and rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both powerplants connect to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission as standard. Under the body panels, the Silverado HD rides on a more capable variant of the GM T1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
