2025 Chevy Equinox EV Won’t Offer This Paint Color

The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV, which is the second model year of the all-electric crossover’s first generation, ushers in several important changes and updates, including the simplification of the model’s trim level lineup.

GM Authority has recently learned the vehicle is also dropping one previously offered exterior paint color from its available palette and gaining another as an indirect replacement.

Red Hot

The Red Hot (color code G7C) paint color will not be offered on the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV, as it was on the 2024 model year. The color was available as a no-charge option for 2024 and could be ordered in conjunction with all available trim levels – including 2LT, 3LT, 2RS, and 3RS – and with all interior colorways.

Red Hot will be indirectly replaced by Habanero Orange (color code GAG) on the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV. However, Habanero will only be available on the RS trim level, not the base LT trim. Buyers who want a red Equinox EV will still be able to choose Radiant Red Tintcoat (color code GNT), but it’s an extra-charge color priced at $495.

As a reminder, GM is cutting back on the number of trim levels offered on the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV, reducing the previous year’s four trims to two. These trims in the overhauled 2025 lineup consist of the LT and the RS. The LT will get some new standard features while elements of the 2LT, 3LT, and 3RS will now be offered as optional packages.

As pricing details emerge for the 2025 Equinox EV, The General has confirmed a base price of $34,995 for the LT trim, which is inclusive of a destination freight charge of $1,395. This price applies to the LT FWD variant, with AWD boosting starting MSRP to $38,295. The most expensive starting option is the all-wheel-drive RS with standard Convenience Package II priced at $51,190.

For motivation, the Chevrolet Equinox EV utilizes GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, while the crossover is underpinned by the GM BEV3 platform, Production of the model takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Currently, start of regular production (SORP) is scheduled for Monday, August 26th, 2024.
