2025 Chevy Equinox EV Gets Overhauled Trim Level Lineup

As GM Authority reported just yesterday, there will likely be no Equinox EV 1LT for the 2024 model year, meaning that the promised $34,995 Equinox EV will likely be introduced for the 2025 model year. With that in mind, General Motors will simplify the trim level lineup of the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV to just LT and RS for the upcoming model year.
For the 2025 model year, the LT will be de-contented, instead offering a number of option packages. More specifically, features that were standard in the 2024 Equinox EV 2LT will become optional, while cloth seats, a six-way manually adjustable driver seat and a urethane steering wheel – which weren’t on offer for the 2024 model – will become standard fare.
The entry-level LT trim will be available with a few packages, including (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Comfort Package (Y19)
- Driver eight-way power seat adjuster (A2X)
- Driver power lumbar seat control (AL9)
- Driver and front passenger heated seats, cushion and back (KAG)
- Wrapped steering wheel with round bottom (N53)
- Heated steering wheel (KI3)
- Active Safety Package 2 (AS2)
- Rear Pedestrian Alert (UKK)
- HD Surround Vision (UV2)
- Traffic Sign Recognition (UVX)
- Convenience Package (ZL3)
- Active Safety Package 2 (AS2)
- Comfort Package (Y19)
- Front passenger six-way manual seat adjuster (A7H)
- Interior ambient, multi-color lighting (C70)
- Headlamps with center lit bar (TDG)
- Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (DD8)
- Power windows with driver Express-up and all windows Express-down (WLM)
- Driver and front passenger illuminated and sliding visors with covered vanity mirrors (DEG)
- Bright roof rails (V8P)
- Heated, power-adjustable and manual-folding outside mirrors (DLF)
- Wireless phone charging (K4C)
- AutoSense hands-free power programmable liftgate with presence detection (TCP)
- Trailering provisions (V92)
- Hitch guidance (CTT)
- Hitch view (PZ8)
- Evotex Seating Surfaces
Meanwhile, both the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV LT and RS models will be offered with these packages (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Active Safety Package 3 (AS3)
- Active Safety Package 2 (AS2)
- Super Cruise (UKL)
- Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist (UKZ)
- Convenience Package II (6K5)
- Active Safety Package 2 (AS2)
- Comfort Package (Y19)
- Convenience Package (ZL3 – LT only)
- Driver memory presets for power driver seat and outside mirrors (A45)
- Front passenger six-way power seat adjuster (A7J)
- Front passenger two-way power lumbar seat adjuster (AT9)
- Dual-zone automatic climate control (CJ2)
- Heated wiper park (CMO)
- Rear camera mirror (DRZ)
- Rear Camera washer (CWA)
- Heated rear outboard passenger seats (KCB)
- Ventilated driver and front passenger seats (KU9)
- 21-inch machined aluminum wheels (RW4 – LT only)
- 21-inch Black painted aluminum wheels (RVV – RS only)
- LED taillamps with uplevel neutral density (TAU)
- LED Headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and enhanced automation and walk-up lighting (TGE)
- Universal Home Remote (UG1)
- Head Up Display (UV6)
- Evotex Seating Surfaces
Essentially, the Convenience Package adds back most of the bits and bobs found in the 2024 Equinox EV 2LT, while the Convenience Package II includes a majority of the goodies found in the 2024 Equinox EV 3LT. Finally, all the features in the Convenience Package are standard on the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV RS, although the RS gets Black roof rails (RPO code VAB) instead of Bright roof rails.

I think this is for the better. The multiple versions of the LT trim has always seemed unnecessarily confusing to me and customers who might get the 1,2,and 3 LT trims confused with each other.
Then the recent article on GM dropping the 1LT trim is irrelevant.
it could be that the LT without all that equipment will simply drop to about $35k before destination.
That was for 2024, because it won’t be out before the 2025 starts.
I think it will make deciding what you want a bit easier. You won’t have to go through a long list of features available on each trim level. You’ll just decide which option model you want.
Why wouldn’t you mention the RS only option that so many people have been wondering about (other than where a nicer stereo is)?
(ZL5) Bidirectional 3kW power capable and 19.2kW charging capable, Includes (K2O) AC charging 19.2 kW capable and Vehicle to Load
1 – Requires (AS3) Active Safety Package 3, (CAJ) Dual panel panoramic sunroof, (XRD) electric two-motor all-wheel drive propulsion (eAWD) and (6K5) Convenience Package II.
What frikin’ purpose does it serve to require AWD and a sunroof to get an upgraded onboard charger? Sounds like they’re just making a path for a $70K vehicle. It’s already $60K with all the options and various accessories that practically everyone gets after buying.
is there a huge demand for the 19.2 onboard charger? I dont see many people being able to take advantage of that. I was unware the equinox could hit $60k- I thouht it was loaded at like $52k before tax rebate
It’s really the ability to use it as a 3kW power generator that I’m interested in. We shouldn’t need to buy the highest trim with every option available just to be able to use the massive batteries in these cars for other purposes in case of power failures, or anytime we want, like at a job site. Not everyone wants to buy a pickup just to get the external power capabilities.
well if there are a cheaper options out there that give you that capability they may be the right choice. Im not aware of too many products that offer this other than Hyundai/Kia products and the pickups.
It’s typical of option packages. To get leather seats, for example, you often have to get $5,000+ of other options.
I’m glad I didn’t wait. The 2024 2LT is almost perfect as is for me. I hate to think about what getting the equivalent in the 2025 model year would be.
considering how tight the EV market is I seriously doubt chevy is going to raise prices much
I doubt they’re raising prices, they’re probably just decontenting the 2LT to make a 1LT for a lower price than the 24 2LT. The 25 equivalent to a 2LT will probably be the same price
No leather upgrade? Pity.

Thanks for this!
I don’t see adaptive cruise control listed anywhere. Is there a code for it or does it come standard?

Chevy is dropping leather altogether on lower end models. This applies to gas equinox and I believe Traverse as well.
I really don’t get the move away from leather. It’s like the anti-leather people don’t realize that leather is basically a waste product of the food industry. Personally I don’t trust the lifespan of the leather alternatives. I’d rather have cloth than some new untested material.
synthetic seating materials are commonplace and have been for a while. Its probably cheaper than offering leather and obviously the process of making leather isn’t exactly great for the environment. Average customer can’t really tell the difference honestly.
All good points, particularly the environment issue, but I’ll trust it’s long term durability when they’ve been proven to last over 15 years. I’m jaded by new materials in the building industry that turned out to be disasters.
I have 2012 vehicle with both real and synthetic leather seats. Actually the synthetic leather seats have weathered better than the real leather seats. The one real leather seat in the car has more visible creases than the synthetic one. The feel for both is the same, can’t really tell the difference.
This has been confusing since they started with the ICE blazer. They dropped the base L trim and the 1LT. So now it just starts with 2LT and then up to 3LT. Doesn’t make sense. Just call it an LT and be able to upgrade packages like leather. OR can the 2LT, LS and the 3LT, LT. Also, I really think they should call the 1RS that is based on a LS trim, Sport. Leave RS for the loaded out model with the just the base power. And SS for all the features and power.
Is that a mild flat-bottom steering wheel I see? I have no idea what marketing purpose flat-bottom steering wheels serve, but they serve no useful purpose unless you’re obese. Maybe very popular with old people who like steering wheel knobs?
it’s probably for looks more than anything else
Yeah, but the steering wheel is what you use to control the direction of the car! I want it to be where I expect it to be when I need it to be there. That said, this does appear to be a mild version, so it’s not like my left hand will be grasping at air when turning right.
I sure hope the clothe seats are nothing like the VOLT clothe seats which were hard as a rock and felt like stuffed newspaper in a cloth bag! ….causing me to buy leather which were and still are more comfortable. And GM put the darn Universal Home Remote (UG1) in all the convenience packages at least!
Should make ordering easier. I got the RS AWD with SC but also wanted ventilated seats and didn’t really need the RS trim package but supply was very limited so I decide it was good enough. BTY the 21″ wheels and 275 width tires are massive IMO. I hope they hold up well and get at least 40,000 miles. These wide tires should be good for winter and rain as they hold the road nice.
