After questions surrounding its future existence in the North American market, the Cadillac XT6 returned for the 2025 model year with minimal changes from the preceding model. That being said, it now appears as though the 2025 Cadillac XT6 will lose two packages.
GM Authority has learned that the Onyx Package (RPO code PDB) and Onyx Lite Package (RPO code PCP) will both be dropped from the 2025 XT6 lineup. Previously, the Onyx Package had been dropped on the Sport trim but had remained available on the Luxury trim level.
For reference, the Onyx Package had previously included the following content (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- 20-inch Gloss Black wheels, LPO (S2K)
- Gloss Black rear bumper molding, LPO (5HR)
- Gloss Black rear fascia applique, LPO (VNI)
- Gloss Black front fascia applique, LPO (QJ5)
- Gloss Black grille, LPO (SJA)
- Gloss black grille trim, LPO (E5K)
- Gloss Black exhaust bezel, LPO (VMP)
- Gloss Black XT6 nameplate, LPO (RIK)
- Monochrome Cadillac emblems, LPO (SFZ)
It’s worth noting that some of the features in the packages remain available independently, including the 20-inch Gloss Black wheels and monochrome Cadillac emblems. These goodies are also included in the Blue Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDL), Bronze Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDJ), and Red Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDK).
As a reminder, the Cadillac XT6 is powered by either the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission is equipped as standard affair, while FWD is standard and AWD is optional.
Under the skin lies a variant of the GM C1 platform, which it shares with the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, Chevy Blazer, GMC Acadia, and Cadillac XT5. Meanwhile, production of the 2025 model year kicked off in July 2024 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
