Earlier this year, GM Authority reported that the Onyx Package would be made available on the Luxury trim level of the 2025 Cadillac XT5 while removing it from the Sport trim. Then, General Motors elected to not offer the package on the Luxury model after all. Now, it appears as though the 2025 XT5 will lose two packages across the entire model lineup.
GM Authority has learned that the Onyx Package (RPO code PDB) and Onyx Lite Package (RPO code PCP) will both be dropped from the entire Cadillac XT5 lineup.
As background, the Onyx Package was priced at $4,995 and had previously included the following content (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- 20-inch Gloss Black wheels, LPO (S2K)
- Gloss Black rear bumper molding, LPO (5HR)
- Gloss Black rear fascia applique, LPO (VNI)
- Gloss Black front fascia applique, LPO (QJ5)
- Gloss Black grille, LPO (SJA)
- Gloss black grille trim, LPO (E5K)
- Gloss Black exhaust bezel, LPO (VMP)
- Gloss Black XT5 nameplate, LPO (RIK)
- Monochrome Cadillac emblems, LPO (SFZ)
However, it’s worth noting that the 20-inch Gloss Black wheels and monochrome Cadillac emblems are also included in the $2,995 Blue Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDL), Bronze Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDJ), and Red Accent Package, LPO (RPO code PDK). The wheels are also a $2,560 standalone option.
As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 is powered by one of two powerplant options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of engine choice, the GM nine-speed automatic transmission is equipped as standard equipment, while FWD standard and AWD is optional.
Under the body panels lies the GM C1 platform, while production of the 2025 model year kicked off in June 2024 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Good!
its time to change the design
BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, Audi all have sweet high performance SUV’s. Cadillac has nothing except for the monstrous Escalade! Typical cheap GM, get with the program, can’t even offer an appearance package & GM wonders why Cadillac sales are in the toilet!!
Hmm, five grand to have miscellaneous things painted black seems expensive
Still wonder why the 2025 XT5 is a slightly refreshed 2024 design and not the upgraded design to be sold in China!!
